Yup...the coaching has really baffled me this season. They put up that statistic of how much the Texans have been getting outscored in the second half this season. We are absolutely getting demolished...and that is squarely on the coaches. The other team makes the adjustments and comes out firing away...while we keep doing the same damn thing over and over again. I have to agree with Ed Reed here...we are completely outcoached.
Yeah he was speaking of the Truth and the Truth hurts. But how did the Texans handle the Truth? They shipped Reed out the next day. The whole organization is like, in denial or something. The bleaching needs to start with Uncle Bob.
It's all true, but you don't keep a guy who's playing like and was talking like that so openly in a locker room that doesn't need any more drama on their plate than this one did and does. Maybe it looked petty to some, but it was the right thing to do.
Sigh no news yet. The way some people were talking in the game thread, today would be a big news day.
Granato saying on his twitter a meeting was called and all minority owners were there and Kubiak is gone. They are mixed on Smith
Wow. Kubiak may be a great guy, but when your team turns into a joke while you invited TWO former presidents to watch your team, theres gotta be some egg on McNairs face and that SHOULD prompt action. Trust me.. the reason why the Presidents were at the game yesterday was because McNair expected a win.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Bob McNair called a meeting for minority owners. Consensus: Kubiak has to go. They weren't sure about Rick Smith. Will he listen to them?</p>— John Granato (@johngranato) <a href="https://twitter.com/johngranato/statuses/402510612699545600">November 18, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Season can't end soon enough. Kubiak and Schaub getting the boot is the only thing that will salve this miserable season.
We need to clean house. Scrub everyone off from top to bottom. The only one I would even think of keeping is Wade Phillips and only temporarily.
It's like a rookie pitcher in baseball who comes in and has a great game or two in his first couple of starts. Then the league adjusts as scouts get more info and they start hitting him. Then it becomes a question of whether they make adjustments themselves and counter back. I think our opponents have adjusted to Case's game. They're gameplanning against his strengths and exploiting his weaknesses. It now becomes a question of whether he can now adjust to the way teams are playing him. If they're taking away the longer routes (which they didn't have to worry too much about against Schaub), will he look for the intermediate and underneath stuff that's now more open? Can he adjust to the blitz and find the hot receiver?
I believe they should let him go now, but they probably won't. His interests no longer line up with the team's interests now that you know he won't be back.
When the team started, I think there were 10. I remember that Ray Childress was part of a group that owned 30% of the team. Not sure how many there are now. According to the Texans website, there are 9 "limited partners". Not sure if that means minority owner or not.
