The idea is flawless, and it would work in an ideal world. But, are the dirty refs truly acting on their own cognition or are they influenced by outside forces?

Sure he can. The millions he has at his disposal gives him a long reach.

What you said was spoken with true beauty. I don't see how anyone can possibly be so shameless as to demand no concessions in this economy while shafting the establishment, unless of course, Stern is in on all of this. Something tells me that Stern settled with the refs' union in order to continue his control over the current refs, thus making it a profitable business decision for him personally. I don't believe that the idea to not push forward with replacement refs really benefits the league at all from a long-term vantage point. The corruption will continue as is, and I think that Stern rather likes it that way.

I agree. However, don't quote Basso with anything factual. It doesn't mix. ;)

Here's a tip. Always bet against the Rockets and the Texans. Gambling websites make too much money off of Houston sports fans.

    you can't be serious.

this wouldn't be cheating by players to attempt to get an advantage...this would be league officials pre-determining outcomes. this is why gambling is the biggest no-no for the integrity of sports leagues...because the minute we find out that outcomes are fixed it goes from pro sports to pro wrestling.

as a rockets fan and hoops fan generally, i really hope this isn't true.
