I hope you didn’t just compare Lebron to Melo. If we wanted Melo bad enough we would’ve made it happen. As it was we were only willing to deal ryno to facilitate that and for good reason - Melo is 1/25th the player Lebron is right now. We trade everyone not named Harden and CP3 for Lebron.

So basically what we've guessed all along? Lebron or another 3rd all-star comes here, CP3 takes a paycut to make it work. If not, CP3 will take the max.

We may or may not acquire Lebron it all depends on where LeBron wants to go.

why doesn't lebron also take a paycut to come here? why not keep the team intact as much as possible.

It's true and he doesn't owe it to us to do it again. I'm just saying its another avenue that nobody seems to be considering IF we get LeBron.

He'd be giving up $20M over two years, but getting that max (or even supermax if he can stay more healthy) following next season would give us a chance to make up for it by paying him $45M+ at age 38.

And if it should happen, we will all be partying like it's 1999.

Because to get here he has to opt in to a contract that is 1 year left 35 million. He cant take a paycut
