I don't really like this move for the Bulls. Their real problem was that they had no post presence (or any consistent inside scorer) to move the offense around. They still havent solved that problem. I dont think T Thomas is the solution either.

They just got a older, way way better, but more expensive version of Tyson Chandler. dont put them in the finals just yet. I like what they've put together so far. lets see if they have one more move in them. Chandler or Thomas has to be on the move

I really like chi towns team but i think it was dumb to go for big ben! they probably should have waited on next year and seen if dirk was available! Though i still think if they can add harrington in a sign and trade they will be in the finals next season!

That's about one million bucks per point per year!

I'm pretty sure this wasn't a matter of c.r.e.a.m. Wallace looked detached, especially in the Miami series. It seemed like (real or imagined) he felt unappreciated by the organization, and didn't like his role in Flip's system. When he grumbled about the Piston's initial offer, it may have been taken as the final "insult."

I think he was gone no matter what.

So, the most logical deal is Detroit signs and trades Wallace the Bulls for Tyson Chandler and ?????

True. While the offer was first thought to be a four-year, $52 million deal, a source close to the negotiations told ESPN.com that the deal is actually for four years and $60 million, with a starting salary of nearly $14 million a year.

when wallace going to the bulls first came out, they said 4 yrs, 60M. then they changed it to 52. now they report it as 52, then change it to 60M later. seems like they should've just stayed with the 60M number, as it also made more sense than thinking detroit got beat out by one million per year (like someone said, if you'll do 48, why not 52?).

of course, they may change it again and 52 may be the final number, but 60 made the most sense the whole time.

and it is a little weird for detroit. wallace is overrated and declining and paying him $15M per year is crazy, but like they said they only have an MLE to work with so upgrading won't be easy. overrated or not, wallace is a big reason for why they've been so good (though whoever acted like wallace made the others better and was leading this team is crazy, he wasn't making the big shots or taking over games. he gave them a great defensive identity but he still only played one side of the ball and was just one of 5 very good parts that made a great team for a while) and losing him basically knocks them from whatever contender status they had.

the bulls are crazy to make such an offer but maybe it'll help them for a while. this seems to make the eastern conference all miami's right now as i don't think the bulls can challenge them even with big ben. this was a 42 or so win bulls team last year. maybe they get it up over 50 wins but they're still not contenders as far as i can see.

wow it's going to be strange seeing big ben in a chi uniform. i guess the pistons are no more. too bad chicago paid SO much money for an overhyped player who can't score squat.

I wonder how Detroit fans are going to greet Ben when he returns to the Palace.

Is Chicago's pick from NY next year protected? Cause if not...

Oden, Wallace and Thomas rotation is sick.

It's not a normal traded draft pick. Chicago has the option to swap picks with New York, so there isn't any protection. So damn. If they get a top five pick, they could easily draft a can't miss prospect in next year's strong draft. The future is bright in Chicago.

We may get the Chicago-Houston finals we've all been hoping for...

I think if Chicago plays their cards right, and they have so far (although i am worried about their lack of point production in the post) they will have leap frogged many teams in the East and become a powerhouse.

    Just such a well-run club....

Wallace is overrated- so he put up stats in the EASTERN fuc kin conference. Chicago has overpaid for an illegitimate player who has yet to prove his offensive contributions. The Bulls are a very young team, and I don't see Wallace giving them the needed offensive firepower or team leadership that they need. Money talks- and Wallace obviously listened- traitor.

"Bye!" - the cowboy played by Powers Booth in Tombstone

No way in h*ll I would match over 10 mill a year for
    a rapidly aging Wallace

The Bulls maybe nice in 2 yrs. . but Wallace won't be
His game is strength and quickness . . . The quickness is going

and the strength game is being deemphasize
his best bet is to get his 'touches' in transition
it will be interesting to see

As for the pistons. . this maybe end up good for them
They need some change. . they great stagnant and content

Eh, lets see you turn down 12 million dollars rofl.

loyalty goes both ways. Loyalty would have been not being so damn cheap about it.
