This is hilarious. Kobe looked at the scrubs on the Knicks, and he looked at the scrubs on the Rockets and he said, "Knicks."
The Knicks haven't won a championship in over 30 years. And with current ownership and management, they won't win another one anytime soon. With or without Kobe. Their flexibility hasn't meant jack of late. Kobe has played in LA his entire career. That can't be the motivation here. Great for the Knicks. Why should Kobe care about that?
Just like Garnett didnt want to go to Boston until he saw that they could put a contender on the floor, Kobe would not come to Houston UNLESS he thought we would have a contender on the floor. In the West, maybe to him that would mean keeping both Yao and Tmac along with him, which we all know WILL NOT HAPPEN. But, if some how we could make a deal to bring in say a Ron Artest, or Bibby or Kidd with Kobe and keep Yao....then I think Kobe would be happy to come to Houston. Most all athelete's love Houston and the low cost of living along with no state income tax. He would still probably continue to live in LA for a very long time anyway. For Kobe to leave, it is going to all be about being in a position to contend for a title. The Rockets can only put themselves out of that picture by not being able to put a deal together that would give us that chance with Kobe. LA would surely take a Tmac, Battier and another of our other good players for Kobe. They are gonna lose him for nothing soon. Les would just have to get that third scorer defender to make Kobe want to come here. So he should be seeing what we and the Lakers could give the Kings to get them involved and bring Artest or Bibby to the rockets with Kobe in a three way trade. Although not likely to happen since there are all west teams.
Which team does not want Kobe amongest these 4? I assume that would be the Suns cause they have built up a really good team where there is no place for Kobe to squeeze in.
Yeah, I agree the management straight up blows right now. But then look how Boston turned into a contender overnight. It's possible and if there's one player who can make that kind of impact- it's Kobe. The intrigue of playing in New York and LA is different. It's apples and oranges. Plus being from Philly, Kobe's eastcoast at heart. Why shouldn't he care?? Sounds like nothing but positives...
State income tax is overrated cause you still get taxed in other ways. These guys make so much money they don't care about low cost of living or higher taxes. The only thing that matters to Kobe is playing in a winning situation.
There's potential for him to make more money in New York, how much more I don't know. If the team continues to be crushingly mediocre, he may end up making less money. Kobe talks about wanting a trade because he wants to win. Having NY as one of only four destination to me suggests that isn't the case.
Maybe you missed the fact that I said the exact same thing about Kobe. It's all about contending for a title. The other part were just fringe benefits.
I dont think Rock out of Kobe's list. Lakers will not accept any proposal from Houston which not have Yao involved, but why not just trade Yao for Kobe? Imagine if Kobe and Tmac play for Houston together while Yao had Bynum,Odom,Jordan Farmar around him. It sounds funny, right?
I doubt Kobe wants to go anywhere now... Bynum looks like he's starting to "get it"... and they're only 2 games behind San Antonio. Things looking up in Laker land.
We saw Kobe's dunk, and so did Buss for sure. Dont u guys think it's too stupid to trade a 40+ Kobe for a constantly injured glass-man? As i said, LA will definitly show a dismissive manner to any deal without Yao involved. Trade Yao for Kobe, it gonna be a win-win deal for both side.
So by that theory James White is the best player. Can't judge player by dunking, see what McGrady does for this team, ask every teammate what that players means to us. Plus he's younger than Kobe but that's unimportant in this story, what I'm trying to say that Kobe and Tracy McGrady are almost the same type of players-very athletic, play same position, fast, know how to shoot and hustle and ONE thing that seperates two players is that KOBE has killer instict, something that 90% of players need and don't have.
funny how this dude can openly complain about his teammates, cry to be traded all summer long, and then when things seem to be going good still openly say he wouldn't mind be traded to so and so team, and everyone is cool with it yet when most other players do that they are bagged and criticized.
