DaDakota...you are right in that God doesnt care about religion...in fact He came to form a relationship; not a religion. But God does care about worship. It is part of the reason why we were created.

Im so sorry , hope she changes her mind and live there with you for the rest of her life , im sad for you , its so bad , and yeah these things are bad , they are ruining islam’s reputation , it makes me sad when I see movies and shows play something against muslims , I just read about the second season of ( 24 ) , it made me sad when I read that there is someone called ( reza ) and he is a terrorist , I just DIDN’T expect that from kiefer Sutherland and elisha Cuthbert who played a part of that , how I loved 24 , I didn’t see the second one , I will never , I also have the episodes of the first season , I might tape other things instead or throw them , I prefer taping other things its just waste of tapes if I throw them , its true that some of muslims are terrorists , but its also true that some Christians are too , and also some jews , ( NO OFFENCE ) but the media is makin Islams reputation horrible , Islam is a “PEACE RELIGION” not like a lot of pple around the world think

    ( WITH RESPECT )

Actually Reza is not a terrorist in the 2nd season. He is just suspected to be one. So no reason to not watch the series over that info.

Cool! I try to limit my TV viewing (it rots my brain!), but my brother-in-law raves about this show. I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip! :)

Actually it's Tuesday October 28, just saw a preview for it

this year it deals with a biological/chemical attack of some sort. Antonio Banderes brother from "Desperado" "Bucho" or whatever he was called, is one of the main characters this year.

and coolchick, don't understand why you wouldn't watch it. It is realistic.

    no... let me explain

There is a terrorist group somewhere in the middle east. They never mention any countries name. They smuggle in a nuclear weapon and plan on blowing up LA. This show in no way discriminates against arabs period. I don't want to give it away but watch the entire season. Towards the end you'll find out the government and a sect of the military are more involved with the bomb than you would expect.

There is a scene in the show where they catch one of the masterminds who helped smuggled the bomb in and planned to fly the plane into something and blow it up. Anyway they are out a mosque and they call in the man running the mosque. I'm not sure what they are called but it would be like the Pastor of a church. Anyway... he explains that Islam is a religion of peace and what he is doing is wrong and so on.

The show doesn't exaggerate, just tells the truth.

also, to show the flaw in your argument.

There are many movies where an american is portrayed as some physco killer who rapes women and children. After watching a movie like does does that change your view about all americans?

    Of course not

But they're not killing people *because* they're American. In American television and movies, Arabs and Muslims kill because they're Arab and Muslim. That's just not accurate or honest.

I haven't seen "24," which I'm sure handles the issue better, but Arabs are almost always portrayed negatively in American television and movies.

What is not accurate or honest about that? Muslim terrorist are killing innocent people from all over the world on a near daily basis now, and every time without fail they do it in the name of their religion.

Even last year, hollywood buckled to outside pressure and altered the original storyline of the movie "Sum of All Fears" from the original Arab/Muslim terrorist to European Neo Nazi's as not to be too "offensive" even though in the original Tom Clancy novel it was Arab/Muslim terrorist that carried out the attack.

Hmm. Interesting...don't recall that issue being raised here before.

I somewhat understand when a terrorist movie is made the antagonists will quite often be Muslim Arab. That's somewhat understandable since that what the audience relates to...that's what's been in the news for years.

The problem arises when that is the only circumstance that we see Muslims or Arabs in movies. But who's responsibility is it to then make a show in a positive/more realistic light to 'balance out' the negative portrayal?
