Try harder next time... Colored counties are those where a candidate has won with 100% of precincts counted. Click the 2000 tab to compare with the last presidential election. Square miles of counties won Bush 2.51 million Kerry 511,700 Population (2003) of counties won Bush 150,9 million Kerry 103.6 million Counties won by less than 5 percentage points Bush 162 Kerry 131 Note: County election data is not reported for Alaska, Source: the Associated Press, ESRI Inc. Are people supposed to be impressed with all the red covered land ? A great deal of the red HAS NO ****ING PEOPLE ON IT. I dont think COWS can vote, but if theyre Republican than thats cool, man.
Nope, you're just supposed to accept the fact that Bush won the election fair and square. End of story. Time to move on. Weird. The 2 threads were merged while I was replying. I thought I was banned.
very weak attempt ron413 your map is nothing but deceptive and misleading by looking at your map, one would think that Bush won the election 90% - 10 %, but that isn't the case now is it? a winner take all map view of counties is next to useless as a reflection of our views here is a more accurate view of how our country is http://www.princeton.edu/~rvdb/JAVA/election2004/purple_america_2004.gif your map is only good for ego boosting and chest thumping
What the ****, a second ****ing time. Once again let me explain to you that I made a thread telling Kerry to concede. Bush won fair and square, you move on. Go make another diagram giving the sheep opinion on gay marriage or something. Farmland...sheesh.
Better yet, here's that map with the counties distorted in size to reflect their population: (source)
Damn! That's purty. Seriously, that looks like one of Hermann Rorschach's inkblots. After detailed analysis by qualified replicants under my command, I've determined that the meaning is clear. The United States of America, on November 2nd., 2004, suffered a collective psychosis. This mental condition is commonly known as a "brain fart." When experienced by tens of millions of people at the same time, as it was on this date, the smell has been noticed as far away as Alpha Centauri, traveling by hyperspace, and causing an allergic reaction amongst the local inhabitants. They are currently considering a response, according to our correspondent there. We will keep you informed. Keep D&D Civil!!
The map is pretty damn cool. However, it is still more red than blue. As for the emotions running through America right now, it's mostly concentrated in New York and San Fran. Most people are happy with the choice -- as evidenced by the fact that over 50% of voters voted for Bush. (This isn't chest-thumping. I didn't vote for Bush either. But I'm not going to be a crybaby about it and listening to other people cry about it is plain annoying.)
Purple looks more blue than red, doesn't it? It would be interesting to see that map with the colours reversed. No matter how you slice it...a whole lotta you voted for Bush. And that's the b**** about democracy. We can't always get our way...even if we're pretty sure we're the good guys!
