I think he'll give the Texans another season, and if we fail to make the playoffs which is more likely bcuz Kubiak is McNair little puppy, am pretty sure he'll ask for a trade after that.
He works hard for $$$. The NFL is a business, remember? If you asked him (or any player) if he'd play for free if he could win a Superbowl, he'd say no. If you asked him if he'd take $20MM / yr but know that he will be on a losing team forever, he'd take it - as would almost every other player. Players play for money; winning is a bonus. He works hard to keep making money.
Ghey... He's getting paid like a top receiver so don't feel sorry for him...The owner has to do something about this crap...The offense needs another legit WR and some D-Lineman that can actual cause some havoc and a secondary that can cover...
Yea I think about this after every loss. How much longer does he take losing and ask for a trade which I wont blame him for because he deserves to win.
How many more touchdowns would he have if Shaub didn't have one of the weakest arms in the league. The amount of under thrown balls after Andre gets behind the CB's and safeties is insane. Imagine Andre with Rivers..... TD after TD after TD
he knows he wont be considered among the all time best if he doesnt have great playoff performances. its hard to put up good numbers in the playoffs if you dont make it to the playoffs
Last time I checked Football was still a game? And the man is getting paid Millions upon Millions of dollars... What he does on the field is great but that doesn't make what he does as a profession great because it's still a game. Just like Basketball,Baseball,Soccer,Olympic Sports,Curling,Chess Club, Race car Driver, etc... Pure "entertainment" that is what it is...
Forgot to add that I would trade him to a championship team so that he can get his ring and in return get a crap load of picks..
Lol at everyone feeling sorry for Andre. He makes millions upon millions of dollars and he plays a game for a living. It sucks we're wasting his prime years, but why apologize?
I love how everyone assumes Andre Johnson, who has never, ever, not once in his career (including his pace for this year) posted double-digit TDs in a season, would suddenly become this touchdown-making machine if only he didn't have to play with a top 10 QB who has ranked 4th and 8th these past two years in YPA and targets him more than any other WR in football. Darn the luck. Even going back to the Carr era (who did have the arm, if not head/balls to throw deep), Johnson has caught an *insane* amount of balls. But it's the QB's fault he doesn't turn more of them into TDs? Steve Johnson, who's only started 8 games this year and has had renowned QBs Edwards and Fitzpatrick throwing to him this year, is on pace to score 13 TDs. FYI. Now imagine *him* with Rivers....
if you can imagine a Nigerian accent he speaks like hakeem. the truth! in this interview he very simply explains everything that in wrong with the texans.
Because his legacy is on the line! Not all players are like randy moss who love money and attention. Some people actually have goals and his goal is to be an all time best.
You kind of have to forget about the money. If I thought about it to much I problaly would never watch another professional sporting event. Its a differnt world than what we live in.
How do you know this? He did have the option to not sign a really lucrative extension and go play with Manning or Rivers or Brady or whomever else is he really wanted to.
Money means a lot but isn't everything. From a sports perspective (and since this is a sports forum/topic), you should feel sorry for the guy. So yes, sorry Andre. You dererve better.
Your point is well taken, but this is his career and life. There are some people out there who want to be successful with their professions. I know that may be hard to believe, but money only does so much. As for AJ, my main gripe is that he gets no looks near the goal. When will they start throwing to him more for TDs? He seems to catch most of the ones they have, yet has never had a double digit TD game. This may seem trivial to some of you, but its always going to factor in the argument about him being the best receiver.
