Agreed nothing a good follower of the Rockets wouldn't know, but hearing it abeit 2nd-hand from a person who makes decisons is another.
But I heard you need a supercomputer to see how the pictures were photoshopped? Do you own one? By the way, Rockets fan or not, this is the best basketball site on the net, no doubt about it.
Even with three smiley faces that's still a low blow. The Rockets don't run jack around here, hangout boy.
OMG yall missed it!!! It said who we are going to draft, what out final record would be, and how far we are going into the palyoffs.
i was invited to go to this breakfast by a friend but i couldn't make it... sounds like i missed some good information.
It seems as though JVG spills his guts over a good breakfest. Too bad for those who missed it. My life is a little more complete after reading it.
Obviously they do. The Rockets called and said it was sensitive, so Clutch took it down ("for now" he said, it should be noted). And, this isn't the first time Clutch has suppressed information for the Rockets' sake. I'm not saying Clutch made a bad decision either -- for the Rockets' sake, and the BBS' sake, I think it was likely the smartest thing. But, you've got your head in the sand if you don't think the Rockets have a significant influence on how Clutch conducts business. (How many smilies does that require?) As good as his intentions may be, I don't think removing the thread will do a lot of good. The couple of hundred posters who did read it will continue to make comments based on that information, and the knowledge will spread regardless. The only good to come of it may be that people who didn't read it won't know how much to trust the information. Anyway, great scoop rhester. I know you feel bad, but I don't think you should. You were sensitive to the needs of the team and didn't say anything unduly compromising. And, you did us a great service -- journalism at its finest. And, JVG is the one that should be keeping his mouth shut, not you. I'm not sure why Clutchfans should be the ones that have to cover for the indiscretions of their employee. Anyway, Clutch, I hope you ultimately decide to republish that thread. I understand maintaining relations with the team is important, but independence is too. Ideally, I hope you can do both.
u dont have to lets know the speific names, atleast tell us what the freking thread was about...meaning for ex. trades, drafting, or interest...give us more on that..thanks... many who didnt read it will post more, so leak little info.
He said a lot of the same stuff that he said in his 790 interview: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=113895 So it's not a big deal really becuase rhester omitted the names of players JVG wanted to bring in anyway (through free agency or trades).
I know the names, I will put on my Karnack hat......hmmmmmm He wants.........as the 2 players............... Clyde Drexler & Hakeem Olajuwon. DD
this isn't about the independence of this site. it's about the nba draft is a week or so away and lets not screw it up for OUR team. We're taking one for OUR team. it's not a big deal. It's not about independence, dignity, and freedom and all that, it's about hardcore fans not wanting to screw it up for our team. Simple as that. It really is. And like Clutch said "for now' until the draft is over.
That is smart of JVG. Rafer Alston would look like the best point guard in the league with Yao playing center, Hakeem playing power forward, McGrady playing small forward and Clyde playing shooting guard. We'd destroy everyone! As a side note, I watched that movie Aeon Flux the other night, and cloning is a big part of the story line. When I got to thinking about cloning, the first thing I thought is "It would be awesome if the Rockets could clone Hakeem." It's kind of sad how dedicated I am to the Rockets.
I didnt get to read it. Screw it. I thought this is a free country. No biggie. We still care. When we dont care, the real trouble starts. All things will be clear at the start of next season.
