Seeing that scene with Uncle Junior was great. That guy is a good actor. Sad to see him get little screen time during the final seasons.
i yelled at my TV, I'll admit it. But yeah that was lame, stupid job of trying to make us all think what was going to happen but nothing did, kinda expected that.
sam, that was just a super duper amazing finale, right?? i mean, absolute perfection, wasn't it? blew you mind, didn't it? davey chase is just crazy kewl amazing and brilliant and awesome, isn't he??? what a show!!!
Also, I didn't think diner guy was there to whack Tony. Butchie/Little Carmine now run NY, Phil is dead, and word has been given that it wouldn't happen. Bad for business. Built up tension though...
Maybe the sudden ending was Tony getting popped by the guy coming out of the bathroom . Thats why they focused on all the simple little moments in that final scene . Thats all I can think of . Its sure did suck though .
But when people do scenes like that they have a gunshot or something the moment the screen goes dark. Maybe even a second or two after.
Hmm, might have been posted earlier, but apparently the cast wasn't too sure of how the show would end... http://www.nbc6.net/news/13475891/detail.html The finale airs on HBO at 9 p.m. Creator David Chase reportedly filmed three different endings to keep the finale a secret.
****, I misspoke - it was Sister Christian in Boogie Nights. I have pwned myself. I should not post when ****faved.
Remember when Bobby and Tony were in the boat at the lake house way early in the season, talking about "how it ends" and Bobby said "You probably don't even hear it when it happens"? Brilliant.
I thought it was fantastic. The whole time in the diner, all the shots of the different people, Meadow outside- the whole time you're wondering, ok, is this it? Where is it coming from? A lot of tension. Now imagine every moment of the rest of your life like that, always wondering if the guy at the counter is going to kill you, or if the next person in the door is going to shoot you. That's the rest of Tony's life. I think having no release from the tension was the whole point. I thought it was a great way to end it. Sorry people didn't get their bloodlust satisfied, but hey, you can always watch Saw III or Hostel or something. Or maybe Cleaver.
That ending had movie written all over it. Even if it didn't, I liked it. There was no right way to end it, leave it to the viewer.
Word. I was going crazy. Great, great show. My favorite of all time... unless Dwight K. Schrute somehow becomes President of the U.S. in an episode of The Office, it will remain that way.
Exactly what I was thinking. I know there are many of you who are just pissed that Tony and the rest of his crew weren't decimated but that was too obvious. I'm sure that was one of the many endings that was filmed. In the end, it was just another day in the life...
oh yeah, right on dude! and if every member of the nj gang was killed off, withoubt a doubt you be saying what a terrible ending you thought that was!
