I have a hard time believing they're going to do anything that will remotely give a sense of closure or serious advancement with all 15 simultaneous plotlines that seem to be going on this season. Of course tony b is deader than dead (since his contract expires) but I think that's the only serious wrap-up we'll get.

I think they are sort of looking at season 5 and 6 as one giant narrative rather than two seasons at this point.

By the way, the sopranos has its moments, but watching deadwood afterwards last sunday was a breath of fresh air after that pseudo-fellini melodrama dream sequence. THere's a new crew in town.

I kind of wanted to jump in and say something similar.

I still enjoy the Sopranos, but no matter what, my ass is planted in front of the TV at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. Deadwood rocks.

    Ditto.

Swerengen ( Sp?) I just about the best, most layered character on television right now. Gotta love British actors.

I dug the dream sequence, all the ghosts telling Tony what needs to be done. The Annabella Sciorra scene with bits of Dr. Melfi's voice coming through were a trip. Every big "whacking" seems to be preceded by one of those dreams.

Anyone else feel think this episode had a season finale feel to it?

    Warning Spoilers...........................................................................

Between Adrianna getting whacked, Johnny Sack becoming the NY boss, Tony getting back together with Carmela and then telling Johnny Sack to go **** himself there isn't much left. It looks like the NY/NJ feud will play out the rest of the way.

Speaking of Adrianna, loved the way they set that one up. Have fun on "Joey"

Beautiful episode, one of the best in a long while.

Chris had better keep his head on straight for this war, Johnny Sack would like nothing better than to kill those closest to Tony S and Chris has got to be high on the NY bosses list of hopefuls. I think he will use the pain of what he had to do as fuel to be one bad Mutha against the NY crew and I hope he makes it through alright. He has always been one of my favorite characters on the show.

She was a dumb ho and I've been wanting her to get found out for the longest time and they pulled it off beautifully.

I liked the episode tonight, but the thing that pissed me off was Tony kicking Chris. What the hell? He didn't deserve that.

It was nescessary, Tony doesn't want Chris slipping back into drug use now at possibly the most critical of times. Kicking the **** out of him now may very well save his life down the road if Chris stays straight for this war that is what's most important.

Finally, an episode that left me thinking about it all night!

    A few comments:

-Carmela looked kinda MILF last night. I like her hair less curly, makes her look a little younger. There's something fishy going on with Tony and her getting back. I don't think it's genuine, but I also think both parties know that. Perhaps Carmela wants to make her own money, so in the end, she won't need Tony.

-Best scene of the night: When Chrissy stands up and says he needs some air. The look in his eyes, his demeanor, his voice -- you knew it was over for Aide.

-I loved how Aide knew as soon as she saw the woods that it was over for her. Man, Aide took some serious physical abuse over the years.

-I wonder if Tony B is still a dead man. If peace with JSack isn't something Tony is concerned about, then why does Tony B need to die? What would the backlash of the Soprano crew taking out JSack? I guess 'war' hasn't officially begun until New York strikes first. If JSack and Leotardo get taken out, Tony B should be safe to come back.

Lots of stories to tie up in two weeks. Hopefully the season finale won't be a 40 minute let down after making us wait two weeks like last year.

Dude has a heroine addiction. And Tony has been very understandable about that, like he said last season, "most guys would have gotten their intervention in the back of the head."

Deadwood is awesome. Sal's finally going to get with Trixie next week.

Tony is looking to enjoy the home and all of the toys he bought, and to save face, so he wants back with Carmella. Carm knows that if she divorces Tony, she won't get any money, so she has to reconcile with him to keep her same high-dollar lifestyle.

so, does Chris take out Phil Leotardo before he gets to Tony B.? I think Chris wants to prove himself to Tony. Even though he talks bad about Tony, he has tried for 3 seasons to prove himself worthy in Tony's eyes.

I was actually pissed about adriana. Aside from looking good in a tight skirt, she was one of the few genuinely sympathetic characters left in the whole show...aside from maybe poor Bobby.

Tony's become a giant, rage filled ******* who likes to cruelly torture his friends & family like Janice.

Chris is a wifebeating junkie who had the opportunity to get out but had his future wife killed instead

Paulie is the same old psychopath. Silvio is a ridiculous looking enabler.

Carmela is a conniving hypocrite who lives off blood money...Meadow is another delusional hypocrite who is doing the same....AJ is a little prick (and a terrible actor, I hate that kid)...Finn is a wuss.

Johnny Sac is a jerk. Tony B is a rage fueled malcontent. Dr. Melfi is a self serving bore.

Adriana was pathetic but at least she wasn't openly cruel to anybody.

I hope the whole lot of them gets killed or incarcerated next season. I hope the Hong Kong triads roll in and incinerate them all.

I don't like season 5 all that much but last nights was good, but right now if I had to choose I'd pick Deadwood.

I think that Chris didn't know what he was going to do until he saw the other couple at the convenience store. It gave him a glimpse of his future and he elected to have Adriana wacked instead. Also, the way they set up Adriana getting wacked was well done and very sad.

So Sam, it sounds like you would prefer a Brady Bunch version of the Sopranos. Gangsters aren't supposed to be nice, good willed, people.

I thought this was the best episode of the season, but I wished it had been one of the more despicable characters that died, not just the weak one. Not sure how they are going to top this with the season finale - probably a cliff hanger those bast!#$%s.

I only caught the last 15 minutes of this Soprano episode and it was finally pretty good, but yeah, Deadwood and esp. Swearengen rule the tube right now (I'm still amazed that such a nasty cuss could be so d*mn funny).

I imagine everyone knew...see pgabriel... what Adirana had in store when they showed coming attractions for Matt LeBlanc's show, eh?
