Amare trying to prove something to Yao LOL I think this deserves its own thread. Did anyone notice how Amare looked like he was mad at Yao during the rookie game and how he was trying to prove something to everyone out there that he's the best and should be the most famous of the sophomore class? He actually gave Yao a scowl when Yao passed to Amare and he couldn't handle it. lol. I think Yao did the smart thing in trying to stay on the bench (if that was his call) he has nothing to prove to those youngsters out on the court. He is head and shoulders above everyone else out there in terms of star power in the NBA and talent-wise (and of course literally). And also, breaking the scoring record in a game where literally NO defense was being played was not impressive at all.
Six bucks, then. Seriously, American basketball has gotten worse over the last 10 years, significantly.
i just remember being pissed when the guy said "and yao threw it away" when it was obviously a beautiful pass and amare couldnt catch it. and when yao made that 1st awesome fade away spin baseline swish. that was an oppurtunity for that same a$$ to comment about how yao is not aggressive and talk about yao's weaknesses. it was that old guy who was making an a$$ out of himself...the guy who called steve kerr "Stevie" and steve and the other commentator were like...ugh......
Yao is smart he aint wasting his time and energy for something that doesnt benefit his team. Let Amares win all the meanningless awards.
Give amare some love. His team goes from playoff spot contending, up and coming team, to a rebuilding team. He probably won't get much spotlight the rest of the year in phoenix, it is going to be tough for him to get back to an asg with all the good big men in the west. I think Mcgrady is going to have a good game too.
Heh...cool.... Wouldn't that be the best justice? Think about it... Amare wins the most INDIVIDUAL AWARDS (rook, all-star mvp, defensive player, etc...) Yao wins the most TEAM AWARDS (NBA Championship Trophies) I'll take that!
