I keep seeing the PSP commercials and feel so un-hip because I don't have one. :(

There may be some good news for those who are waiting for a web browser on the PSP before getting one:
I would assume that maybe something similar could happen in the US, possibly around May. Of course, it may be possible that someone would have already hacked the PSP to allow for Internet access by then (already seems like they're close). Can't wait for that option.

BTW, I'm still loving everything about my PSP. All three games I have (Ridge Racer, Untold Legends, Metal Gear Acid) are solid, if not great, games that I have no problem playing right in front of my PC and PS2. I love how RR brings the console style of racing (graphics, soundtrack, etc) to the PSP, and the analog "nub" controls a lot better in the game than I thought it would.

Untold Legends has some problems, such as a frequent and sort of long load times, but none of them make the game unplayable; in fact, once you get the hang of things, the game is a pretty good Diablo clone that would be perfect for portable gaming. I think it is a lot more solid than the reviews scored it, although some improvements in the music and load times would have really helped.

Metal Gear Acid is also a lot better, IMO, than some of the reviews scores. It does take a little bit of time to understand the whole card battling system, but it does start to feel like other types of strategy/tactical RPG once you get the hang of it. The graphics are nice and missions seem to reward great thinking (love placing mines and shooting grenades). There is a lot of reading, but I think Metal Gear fans as well as fans of this type of genre should give it a try, despite the whole card battle thing.

    I haven't

Oh crap. Sorry about that...accidently hit enter or something and posted too soon.

I basically was going to finish up by saying I haven't seen anyone else with a PSP and I am no where near a hotspot, so I haven't tried the whole wireless/internet gaming thing yet. May get to try that this week possibly. I was also an idiot and never ordered a good screen protector ahead of time. There was one that came with the PSP case I got, but it looked really bad, so I'm basically going unprotected for now. :( I got what appears to be a good one off of Ebay, but it is coming from either the UK, Hong Kong, or Australia, which means I won't get it for another week or two at the earliest. Man, I'm stupid.

Oh, and here's the link to the above article:

Components I think. My family and I, including my brother, all went out of town for the weekend (Thurs.) so he missed the opening Friday. If it did open Friday. He did say that it might get pushed back a few days.

cool how people have already made ways to use the browser in that game as an internet browser.

The thing hasn't been out that long, and yet, it's been done.

Quick question can you put the Sony PSP on Layaway at Walmart? that is if they have some, which they did the last time I was there.

I feel a little bit like an idiot. I have been putting some mp3's on my memory stick, but due to the small size, I couldn't put too many on there (maybe 3-5 depending on which ones). The reason I feel like an idiot is that it never occurred to me until yesterday that I could always convert them to the ATRAC3 format that Sony uses to save some space. Sure enough, I was able to convert ~42 MB of MP3's into ~26 MB of ATRAC3 files. From what I could tell, they still sounded the same, so I could probably even compress them a little more using a smaller bit rate. Perhaps this would bother some people who listen to music a lot, especially from CD's or something similar, but I'm more than fine with it. I'm also new to all of this music converting stuff, so maybe someone else can elaborate even more on it. Still can't believe it took me this long to realize that...

BTW, did anyone see the Southpark episode about the PSP this week? It was pretty funny, IMO.

"The PSP was built by God." :D

I don't like having to buy the value pack.

I am going to wait till later to buy my PSP (months).

Saw a sentence in there about the Gizmondo.
