True I was at the Fry's on 59 and Beltway and obviously I was at the gaming section and overheard one of the employees talking to some kid about how much ps3 they have.. He said we have alot and that there is plenty in the back ( surplus )

I think that interview was conducted a few weeks after launch, so he was right at the time. FWIW, I'm guessing this is just regular PR trying to keep people from anticipating a price cut anytime soon (think Sony did this with the PS2). That, or there are some things that are very, very wrong.

There's going to be problems for Sony since retailers are going to start cutting future orders. I think the Wii absolutely undercut Sony directly - they launched at the same time, and almost no one has the cash to buy both systems (to say nothing of additional games) at once. Wii is the more desired and cheaper product period. PS3's are probably on wishlists, but they won't sell briskly at that price. It'll be a steady trickle, like HDTVs. Evan
The next set of games coming out will be the key. If the Wii games are good, sales will be strong for a long time. If the games don't go to another level, the Wii will start losing momentum.
ROFL. That reminds me. I have my old TurboGrafx (in the original box), CD player add-on, and Turbo Express sitting in the corner of my den, just collecting dust. I really need to get off my ass and list the items on ebay (before my wife nags me to death).
