Great ending to the season with a great hook to watch Season 3. Spoiler Twist after twist. I'm surprised they still killed Weston with his kid right there. That was brutal. I wonder if Zoebelle still plays a part in this next season...revenge for his daughter? He is outed as being a rat for the FBI so I doubt he shows his face again. Agent Stahl (what the f*** is wrong with that chick's face? what's with all the ticks?) is one evil b****. She set up Gemma well to go down for Eddie's murder. The ending was absolutely heart wrenching. Half-Sack is dies while, at least temporarily, saving Jax's son from Cameron. The cliffhanger is there. FX hasn't yet picked it up for a third season, but it's hard to imagine they'd pass on it. The actress that play's Agent Stahl is the wife of the president of FX. My goal is to catch up on what I haven't seen from season 1. I've only seen the pilot and then picked up with the beginning of this season. As I've said, I'm hooked and I'll be looking forward to the next season more than most other shows I watch.
I love SOA but that ending was a little too cheesy for me. They could have left it with Zoebell skipping town and Gemma on the run. Adding the kidnapping of Jax's kid was a little something extra but then turning it into a cheesy chase scene that ends with a speeding motorboat was just too much. Not to mention, none of these guys thought to grab another boat and pursue?
Thought it was a good ending to the season but the 2nd half was mostly setting up the 3rd season, would suck if they didn't get picked up for some reason, even if that's doubtful FX would be stupid not too.
Can't start a boat without keys. The interesting thing is that now it looks like the Sons may be taking a trip to Ireland where the rules will be different and they won't have a crooked police chief watching their back.
I don't know if I'd be down for them going overseas, just would seem kind of silly. Are they just going to ship all their motorcycles and charters over there? I think the chief will be paired with Gemma for most of the 3rd season.
Yeah, SOA Europe wouldn't fly. Re: the boat. yeah, I know you need keys and it wouldn't be a cliffhanger if they grabbed some other dude's boat and got the kid back. It was just so B movie-ish to have them get to the end of the dock just a few seconds too late. I thought the whole scene was corny.
Can't see that happening. Though, didn't they say they had friends in Ireland before that may not have been involved with Cameron?
Spoiler The guy with the kid cannot goto Ireland. Johnny O thinks he and his son were RATS. So he would be killed on sight. I think the Gemma setup was a little weak. Rocket River
FYI for those interested http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/15829/tv-news-anarchy-true-blood-dr-who By Garth Franklin Thursday December 3rd 2009 09:15AM Sons of Anarchy FX has ordered a 13-episode third season for its biker hit "Sons of Anarchy". Tuesday's 90-minute season two finale was cable's number-one program for the night, delivering 4.3 million total viewers and three million in the key 18-49 demographic, while it beat all three broadcast networks in the male half of that key demo. Showrunner Kurt Sutter has signed on for a two year extension to his deal to continue in his role, while all series regulars are in place to return next season. The third season will premiere in September 2010.
Disagree....TV shows really start to suck once networks order 20 episode seasons. Stuff that should end up on the cutting room floor becomes the other 7 episodes. Do we really need to know why Juice is SAMCRO instead of Mayan? Or why Bobby is an Elvis impersonator?
http://sepinwall.blogspot.com/2009/12/sons-of-anarchy-kurt-sutter-season-two.html Season 2/3 Q&A with Kurt Sutter. "But the plan is to take the charter to Ireland."
And at least he tries to explain some of the ludicrousness of the finale (All of that effort to get to Zoebelle, and you can't leave ONE guy behind? Really?).
I agree that it gets too much when you start looking at 20 episodes or more. I think it's why I don't watch 24. There just no way someone continually has that bad of a day...to the point where I have to see every damn second of it. 15 episodes would have been nice, though.
That would've been a nice number of episodes because we never found out what happened to Darby at CaraCara. Only Chuck was accounted for.
Who said anything about all of them going or shipping their bikes? It would be a couple of them probably sneaking in because I'm sure they aren't aloud to leave the country with the issue of the Church attack still on the back burner. But there was talk about "friends" in Ireland so there may be a friendly MC there that Jax, Chibbs, and Opie, etc could get help from. Plus the creator/main writer talked about what could happen in the future in a recent interview: http://sepinwall.blogspot.com/2009/12/sons-of-anarchy-kurt-sutter-season-two.html
QUestion: Why would Jimmy O *NOT* kill the guy when he shows up with the baby? Or Chibs for that matter? Rocket River
the thing that bothers me with this show, is it's too friendly... too much peace and lets all get along. supposed to be about badass biker club and they really aren't. everything seems to work out just right, i mean they build the suspense and keep building it then its just a let down. not enough changes to warrant all the suspense. the whole opie finding out part. zoebel was all by himself in that store... woulda taken 2 seconds to shoot him. the whole building of this big showdown against the mayans... COME ON. then some of the episodes are just like filler for the next 'big' thing. there was a couple this season. i think the only character that has changed a lot and is keeping my attention the most now is Gemma. the rest are pretty much the same they always have been. i'll still watch it though. there was just a lot more action in the first season i think. they were holding back in the 2nd to build for the finale or something.
You really think Opie is going to just forgive and forget about what Clay and Tig did? It will come up again.
