Any song that mentions both Stalin and Ghandi is a classic.

I didn't know there were Manic Street Preachers fans on this board. I'm partial to If You Tolerate This and Ocean Spray myself.

    For rock music:

London Suede - The Wild Ones
    London Suede - Stay Together
Ocean Colour Scene - The Circle
Jimi Hendrix - Castle Made of Sand
Led Zepellin - Over the Hills and Far Away
    The Doors - Unknown Soldier
David Bowie - Life on Mars
    XTC - Dear God

    For R&B:

    Maxwell - Ascension
Donny Hathaway - Someday We'll All be Free
Donny Hathaway - This Song for You

"God Moving Over The Face of the Waters" - Moby (Heat soundtrack). Just epic!

And any number of Tool songs. Already earlier mentioned, 'Lateralus'.

    bernie,

im a huge manics fan. Those guys are a huge influence on me, musically.
Bands with balls like the manics don't come around too often. good old protest glampunkrock! They did soften up especially when richey "left"
but all for the better. I wish those guys would come to the states more, if at all these days.

Ocean spray is supposedly about James Dean Bradfield's mother passing...

    whats your fav. manics album?

Hrmm. "Hide and Seek," by Imogen Heap, though completely overplayed, is a great song.

Was totally digging Frou Frou/Imogen earlier this year

Oh man, that was some awesome stuff. The soundtrack really made that movie. "Caring is Creepy" by the Shins also fit it so well.
