I don't think MJ ever worried for a second about Kobe being known as an equal or better player. I know we have some kids on here that think Kobe is right there but the stats, rings and performances all belong to Jordan.

Kobe doesn't have enough years left in the league to match what Jordan did.

What makes you so sure that MJ is wearing his PJ's?

That is nothing to brag about. They blew two huge leads. Again. Its not going to be any easier playing in Boston.

Not to be a hater, but this Finals coupled with the egg Kobe laid against Detroit should destroy any notion of Kobe being on the same level as MJ.

Talent wise he is right there with him as much as I hate to admit it. But MJ just had a little something extra mentally that Kobe doesn't have.

I think the Kobe/MJ comparison is officially dead after this year.

    Not even close...

Kobe isn't even in the same league as Hakeem and Shaq...

Has Kobe ever won a ring as the best player on his team?

    Nope.

I was kind of reminded of the first few times MJ had to hit that tough Pistons team.

But even so, I have to say that MJ had an extra gear for the big stage that I just haven't witnessed in Kobe yet. 22 points in an elimination game?

Hakeem demolished one of the best defensive teams ever in the Knicks in 1994...

A great offense beats a great defense in basketball....oh well, guess Kobe doesnt have a great offense.

What Kobe lacks is true physical dominance. He didn't have MJ's unbelievable explosion and strength. Yes, he is skilled, but he isn't going to jump over you and dunk on your head...while sticking his tongue out, no less.
