    2) The Block
I remember once during a scrimmage, coach said the losing team had to stay for extra training, so everybody was playing hard. Yao and I were on opposing teams. On one play, they had the ball. Yao got the ball on the left baseline, shook his defender, and spun into the key. We were playing man-to-man, so there was nobody left to defend him. Yao dribbled, took a step, and went up for a layup from the side of the basket (not a dunk). I was defending near the left edge of the box near the foul line, and seeing him waltz into the key so easily got me pretty pissed. I started for him during his dribble. Maybe because he didn't look around, Yao didn't protect his shot going up, a bit careless. In any case, I rose way up and pinned his shot against the backboard. In truth, I fouled him since I leveraged on his shoulder going up, but maybe since coach stood right behind me, there wasn't a call. In other words, I had one mean block on Yao. Later we still lost that game, but that block stayed on Yao's mind. Once he came off the court, he put me in a headlock and said in a "bad-ass" voice: "You honestly tell me whether there was a foul or not on that play." Then I made the biggest mistake of my life. I didn't admit it, but said in bad-ass way: "Get out of here. If you got balls, stuff me back". History proves that I paid a heavy price. In every subsequent game, whenever we were on opposing teams, Yao would look straight at me and snicker intently. What happens after that, you guys know without even me tell you. I think I deserve a little credit for Yao's awesome shotblocking ability today... LOL!

    Reebok signs Yao Ming
The sports apparel and shoe maker brings on basketball star in multi-year endorsement deal.
    October 23, 2003: 9:52 AM EDT

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Athletic shoe and clothing maker Reebok International Ltd. said Thursday it signed a multiyear endorsement contract with Houston Rockets center Yao Ming of the National Basketball Association.

Reebok said it will design and sell a signature collection of athletic footwear and apparel for the 23-year-old native of Shanghai, China.

Yao's official signature products line will be introduced at retail in the fall of 2004, Reebok said.

Shares of Reebok (RBK: up $0.48 to $37.72, Research, Estimates) rose in early trading Thursday.

Is there an endorsement contract for Odor Eaters in Yao's future? He's got such a great sense of humor, I could almost picture him doing it!!

Thanks for an enjoyable article and I really appreciate both (real and humorous) translations.

I kind of liked "bakes the dragonfly robber". But I do worry a little about "Takes swindles the armpit covers from". Especially since it seems somehow to be related to the "sodium rectifies" part.

Does anyone know what happened to Nike when Lebron and Camelo signed?
