One problem - and I'm sure this has been mentioned before this but I haven't had time to read the whole thread.... There is no way in heck the Rockets would be able to sign him. The only way this would work is if they traded Cato and Mo Taylor to get rid of their salaries. Now, that would be an unbelievable trade as far as getting your money's worth... BUT... I think that we need to fill in the gaps between Yao and Francis with strong role players. It is tough to balance chemistry with three superstars on a team. Yao is a budding superstar for sure, and within two to three years he will be a 20 / 10 guy. Bringing in another superstar may be a problem. But, I would do it just because the potential of that trio is unreal when you think about it. I would only do it, though, if there was a long term prospect of signing him, or to dump some of the bigger contracts like MoT and Cato (although Cato has been very valuable lately).
Outlaw:- Sorry NO DEAL you are giving away the young heart of the Rockets for Brand and oldies, not good enough!
Keyon Dooling isn't old. He tore up the Rockets earlier this year. He and Steve would be a pretty good backcourt.
outlaw, what the heck are you smoking? Sixers trade Iverson? When was the last any team traded their all star starters? I mean except Vince Carter. Just like there is no way in hell Les is going to trade Yao or Francis. No bloody way.
After tonight's game.... pull the trigger... (w/o trading ming, francis, posey, or mobley) Eddie isn't cutting it.
Other than Yao/Francis, I'd add whoever is out there including Colin pine for Brand. If we need to add cash, stock or some jewels, do it. We fans can donate too.
Actually, if the Sixers could trade Iverson and get back, say, Lamar Odom, they'd be well advised to do so. Iverson's talent is rapidly plummeting. He plays too many minutes, he does too much; in three years, who knows if he'll still be any good?
