I pray there's a GM as blind as some fans.

Shame things don't click for Green for the first 50 or so games every single season.

It clicked for him for sure, the clicking only happens when there is not much on the line or towards the end of a long season.

y’all the type to take your spouse back after the 5th time she cheated thinking she’s actually changed

Jalen gets zero benefit of the doubt until he actually manages to play well for most of a season

The difference for me with Green is that in previous seasons, his "hot" games were mostly empty stats that did not seem to have much to do with the team's wins. He would be scoring and getting highlight dunks, and the Rockets would still be losing and often badly.

This time seems different. He's putting up numbers and they seem to be affecting the flow of the game and keeping the team competitive. Remaining offensively effective while playing within the team system was something he's struggled with all season.

He's still a work-in-progress, but it really does feel like he's putting things together.

Something clicked for Amen and that is more encouraging even if that was against the worst team.....

A Jalen Green is nothing without defensive contributors like Amen, Fred or DB.

Jalen Green has been a better defender than Fred and Dillon recently against perimeter guards. They've blown by the two vets a lot more post all-star break while Green rarely allows guards to get by him.

This is really the main reason why people are more confident about this stretch. Because it's more than just good scoring.

Oh I'm grateful for what is doing (right now). But I'm also trading him in the off-season for maximum ROI (of course I'm not the GM, so who cares - but that's the path I'd pursue).

My thoughts are that only 1 playoff team wins it, and the rest are looking for a fresh angle. Perhaps Green, fresh of (yet another) hot end to the season might be the fools gold a playoff team think can drive them one step further? Or perhaps he is the rebuilding block for a team who is looking to part ways with a star who hasn't delivered the long awaited championship? Or perhaps he softens the blow for a team losing a star player who wants a fresh start to try and win elsewhere, and Green is a decent return (and Houston a viable destination for leaving star player)

the horrendous Rockets under Silas were 8-8 when Green scored at least 30 last season…they were 15-15 when he scored at least 25

it’s not true that Jalen’s hot scoring games had little impact or didn’t have much to do with the team’s wins…they always have, he just can’t manage to not suck mightily for large portions of the year like he once again demonstrated this season

Think of this as his rookie season. He’s with a new coach and learning how to play the game the correct way. He’s come a long way since the beginning of the season. I think he’s going to continue to improve. This team might actually be good next season.

When you have a player capable of putting up 25 points every night and 40 on occasion, but who also suffers from inconsistency, wouldn't it be wiser to figure out what needs to happen for him to have those games as the norm, rather than the exception?

Guys who can put up points like that don't come around often. Trading him seems woefully short-sighted, especially now that he's giving more effort on defense and hitting open teammates with passes.

Don't throw the baby daddy out with the bathwater, or something like that.

Jalen will be a hall of famer if he plays against Poole every game

Green had two turnovers. Trade him to Portland for a tampon machine. <sarcasm>

There's many aspects to being a basketball player alright? Efficiency is one thing, attitude is another, defense is another etc

Jalen Green's efficiency is what seems to regress and progress every season. If you look at his counting stats, it has barely moved because for majority of the season he has been bad efficiency wise and keeps getting benched. His 3 PT shooting has been extremely erratic and lack of strength and ball handling ability means he loses the ball when opponents get physical and ref swallow the whistle.

On the intangible side however, this is where Jalen has improved under Ime. His defense has improved, his rebounding has improved, his hustle has improved and even his playmaking has improved a lot. A lot of the haters keep acting like Jalen is some scrub but he really si not, he's just not very efficient yet.

I've been advocate of keeping him cuz when Jalen fixes his J with all his improvements he will be a star. The best case is he doesn't get a max due to how erratic he is and then he grows into a max player over time. If the Rox keep him for 25M or less then that's a massive win extension wise IMO.

He does look like he's improved. Still, until he breaks the pattern we've seen by dramatically increasing his consistency from Game 1, I will be restrained in any praise. On Jalen, I'm from Missouri.

Fun game from Jalen that helped lead us to the win but don't get cocky or comfy Jalen. Make sure to bring the defense and energy from the start of next game. If we can beat the short-handed Cavs and Wizards in the next 2 games, we might ignite our playin hopes.
