Someone's idea for a Rockets uniform I found on the net...

Hottodie, can you take that jersy and put te yellow and red colors from the other jersey on it?

 

No dude, blue and white is stupid. Reallll stupid. We're not the Mavericks/Wizards/every other team in the NBA. I'd like Creamer's jerseys if they didn't look like Hulkamania.

My Final Thought:

Take the Robert Snyder jersey and put those colors under Hottodies Jersey, but for the lettering, use grey instead of white. Put the old symbol at the bottom of the shorts, but replace the white with grey.

See how that looks.

chievous: I think you are wrong about people wanting to return to the old uni's. Most of the people who actually voice their opinions on the matter, and actually wear the stuff, are kids who are too young to even remember the red and gold.

max: I think the point he was making was that they want new uniforms for a new era in Houston. The answer was directed at a question that basically asked if they would consider a return to the old championship era uniforms.

 

i really don't like that remark from Postolos...ultimately these aren't Steve and Cuttino's Rockets!! these are OUR Rockets!!! players come and go all the time.

i guess they aren't Larry Bird's Celtics anymore...but the current players still wear the same unis. They're not Ruth's Yankees anymore...but Jeter still wears pinstripes. They're not Magic's Lakers...but Kobe still wears gold and purple.

We could never be in the same class as the Lakers and Celtics for lots of reasons. Both of those teams started in the late 40's and have winning traditions due to the Lakers 13 championships and the Celtics 16. Because they have won so much, people would freak out if they made drastic overhauls with thier uniforms. Whatever they do with the jerseys, I hope they look clean and simple, but we will never be in the same class as those teams because one, we don't have the history, and two, Houston isn't a popular city compared to LA and Boston. Also, in the 35 years the Rockets have existed, they've changed cities (which the Lakers did) and have had 4 different Jerseys/logos and 3 different color schemes. So we already are a team that changes uniforms constantly. I bet no matter how much we love the new Jerseys, they will probably change by 2020. Hopefully, In my life time, the Rocks will win at least 10 more titles and Houston will get that kind of respect, but I think for a long time we will be in a class with teams like the Sixers and the Suns.

 

Interesting. The issue of timeless design is an interesting one. Let's think for a moment who has retained their uni's in basketball:

Boston
LA Lakers (since the move from Minneapolis)
New York Knicks

That's pretty much it. LA has modified their uni's to a degree, but they are similar. Pretty much everyone else has changed at least by removing colors or adding colors or changing logos.

I would LOVE a timeless design like the Yankees. Hopefully, we'll get one. I think the Texans have a shot at that with their design. I didn't like the name until I saw the logo, so there is hope.

Designing a "classic" logo is tough which is why so few actually survive long periods of time. In general, when you look at classic designs, they are based on simple concepts and colors. They are very easy on the eye and are not busy. You always see primary colors (green, blue, red, black, white) and simple lettering.

But getting a simple, classic design is tough. Let's hope we get one.

 

Does anybody else think that the "Creamer" jerseys look an awful lot like the Jordan college jerseys that teams like the Cincy Bearcats wear? I guess the difference is the rectangles are multi colored instead of just white on the away jersey and red on the home.

No offense but I don't like that design...looks too much like the Milwaukee Bucks jerseys (except the colors) from the 80's.

I couldn't get it more red...

im sucky with colors but if somebody could better my original ideas for me, i think they'd look good. I tried replacing the black in Mobes's jersey with yellow, it'd look alright if somebody who knew what they were doing made that design in those colors (gold with red trim.)

 

I like that the most 2. I just bought a Fleer Legacy Autographed Replica Rockets jersey, which is an actually size 48 replica Francis jersey, that's autographed, that you get in a box. It's worth $150, but will the book value go up once we get new jerseys?

people...quit posting uniforms using the ROCKETS current typeface/font. It looks too cheesy and cartoonish. What were they trying to do with that typeface? wannabe 3d or something.
