I think we should send Liam Neeson over there.

At a minimum, stake it out and post a picture of who it is. Then, we decide their fate.

Watch it be a Granny set up to take the fall.

I once had a mysterious charge of over $1k on my card from Amazon Services something or other. But, that was the only charge. I don't understand why it was only the one charge. A billing mistake?

No idea, I assume it's an unoccupied house or something. But thieves aren't always smart. Both merchants independently confirmed the same address, for what it's worth.

The 2nd one was a billiards shop owned by a little old lady who told me her and her husband both served in the Vietnam war and were stolen from at the airport when they got into the wrong car one time. It's been a day of neat phone calls.

What if they don't live there and are using the fake address to get their stuff, maybe it is a house for sale.

I was going to suggest burning their house down but in light of subsequent considerations I am glad I didn’t give OP that advice

Report to Carol Baskins that they are housing a large cat there.

I'd say that's a 50% chance yeah. So is it fine to have Reddit destroy the house in that case?

I'm legitimately not sure. I have my doubts about whether it would make any difference, they'd probably just say "OK, yes, we have written that down."

I get what you're saying, though if crooks are stupid, what are we, if we keep falling for their crap? :D I'd just be careful you're not bringing grief on some innocent party, and ultimately yourself, possibly. Like what if the address is legit, but they're renting? The landlord may end up with "reddit vigilante revenge" on his hands. I dunno... but just make sure you get a new credit card and change gas stations you're pumping at. lol.

I'm a gas station mercenary, maybe I should just stick with one.

I'm not actually going to do anything, just wanted to hear "interesting" suggestions.

Still waiting to see how Wells Fargo will handle. It's escalated to their "fraud team".

Yeah, with Chase, I have alerts that get sent to me for any gas station purchase, foreign purchase, or purchase over a certain amount. One time I got an alert around midnight-2 a.m. that somebody in Fort Worth had just pumped gas using my credit card. I immediately called Chase and said "it wasn't me". They shut the card down and sent a new one within a few days. I've timed how long it takes to get the alert from when I pump gas, and it's within a few seconds. Good luck!

That sounds handy. I get random text notifications when WF considers something suspicious, but not these. Maybe I should check the settings there.

They've been good in the past with fraud. Someone once ordered WWE Smackdown Tickets in NYC with my CC 6-7 years ago. They didn't get to go because I caught it in time.

Haven't you ever heard of 2 wrongs make a right?

(I'm not advocating anyone do anything. Other than make fun of the yard in that photo Xerobull linked.)
