I recently put a webcam/securitycam at the SwoLy household... just to see what was going on while my family and I were gone. I did this because I thought there was someone letting my dog out during the day. It turned out that he was digging under the gate, so I patched it up. I took the camera off because we've put our house on the market and the setup looks creepy pointing out at the neighbors. At about 9 hours of 640x480 jpg images, shooting every 2 seconds when triggered by movement, I had about 4 GB of images. I pointed the camera at the cul-de-sac where I live, and every time the trees moved the camera shot a couple shots. This went on for the entire day. If you have enough hard drive space, and a clear camera view to the outside, this is not difficult to do. There are plenty of web sites that show you how to do that.
It helps if you have a hot next door neighbor with a swimming pool, regardless of your gate or puppy.
Twas part of the joke and parody, friend. "Run-on fragments" is not even a grammar entity. but I'm glad I gave you another opportunity to post roll eyes. I'm surprised, but they only get more and more funny.
So who are your neighbors on both side of your house? Do they have kids? It could possibly be like others have mention that someone retrieving something that they threw over the fence. But I don't think your next door neighbors would be breaking the latch. Possibly someone taking a shortcuts.
To answer a few questions. -I'm in the Clear Lake area, and I'd think my neighborhood is considered pretty safe. Then again... -My house isn't a shortcut for anything, other than the other side of my backyard. I have neighbors on both sides as well as behind the backyard. All fenced. -My neighbors have kids, but they're all like under 8 and aren't teenagers. -Ordered a video camcorder online. The plan is to set it near the living room window that's directly next to the backyard gate. (I've been wanting one for a while so I could tape myself playing basketball). Let's see how this goes.
this started when you got your new puppy? Does he bark all day when you're gone? Perhaps someone's trying to allow him to escape? (you realize you now have to tell us how this ends up.)
Uncle Rico?? Is that you?? Seriously though, when you get those videos, you've gotta fill us in on what's going on. It's like Clutchfans' own Encyclopedia Brown mystery.
Haha no, the pup almost never barks unless a stranger gets too close, then she'll let out this muffled growl and maybe a bark or two. On one hand, I'm not really worried cause there's no damage and nothing missing. Then again it irritates me that someone 1) took my lock and 2) kicked open my yard gate for no reason.
Just subscribed to the thread because I'm curious of 1. who's breaking and entering your backyard and 2. your basketball game  Good luck
We had issues like that when we bought our house. To the point where somebody completely destroyed our gate. People were using it to get to the gas station behind my house. I talked to my neighbors, and they said they would keep a lookout, and call the police if they saw anyone. This worked very well. We don't have problems anymore.
