Someone explain to me the fascination in the US with NASCAR??

I use to really be into NASCAR. Until you goto a race you don't know what you're missing. Every weekend is a very large party.

As others have said you either get it or you don't. I have season tickets to the Columbus Blue Jackets, OSU football Buckeyes, passes to the Memorial Tournament (PGA even in Dublin, Ohio), and make it to a few Reds/Indians games and back 5 years ago I would have gone to a NASCAR race over any of them. I loved teh atmosphere plus it was (as mentioned) a very interesting place to people watch. Plus any place where you can bring your own beer is good with me!

But I stopped watching when Dale Sr. dies. I don't know why but I just can't watch anymore and have no urge to goto a race. Now I'm more content to not drive 8 hours to Charlotte or goto Bristol or Indy. I'm more content going to watch the Buckeye or Blue Jackets.

I dont understand the sponcers. Why do they think that putting a picture of a purple pill and have people watch it go in 500 circles is going to make people want a purple pill???
