He was one of those guys that even when he was being a douchebag, you still liked him because he had the balls to stand up for what he believed in and didn't care what others would think. Funny, intelligent and had a real love and knowledge of music. I know some of the circumstances that led to his passing and they are extremely hard to deal with because they hit very close to home for me. I never met him in person but there were many times I felt like I knew him. Many times I felt like I was one of the few people who understood what he was trying to say. When he informed us about the tough time he was going through, my heart went out to him. I wanted to get a chance to hang out with him and buy him a beer and tell him everything was gonna be ok. Now there is just a lump in the back of my throat. He's gone. Sometimes moments like this make me realize how much of a community this place is, even if we never truly "know" each other on a face-to-face basis, we get to see into each other's minds and get a sample of our personalities through the words we choose to express ourselves with. In that sense, once the pretense of keeping up physical appearances is stripped away, perhaps it is us dorky internet junkies that knew more of the real Landlord Landry than any of his friends and family did. RIP Rhien. You're at peace now my friend.
WTH. No way. This is beyond sad. We used to discuss music via email and this board all the time. I knew he was going through some tough times, but didn't know it was this bad. See ya Rhien. I'll listen to some Braveyoung and This Will Destroy You in your honour today.
Holy cow. What a shame. RIP. I never met him, but he earned much respect on the board for me. I pray for his family and those that knew him.
Me too, FB. All that. I also learned of this sad news yesterday and had a hint it might be true a few days before, via another BBS brother. I thought of posting something but I didn't have the words. Clutch did and I appreciate his words here very much. RIP, Landlord. You will be dearly missed.
wow, shocking anyway my memory of him is that even though conservative i thought he could be reasonable on his beliefs. funny and smart. his most memorable post for me was him loving jammal charles during the chiefs playoff game against baltimore.
This is really sad. I enjoyed his music posts the most. I don;t know what his financial status was like, but having known a widow left to raising multiple kids it gets really tough. Maybe we can do something as a community for his little ones.
