Outseam, that's pretty interesting. Cato, I can understand him being on pace to foul out. He defends the basket and chases blocks and what not. But, it is not a good sign for Nachbar who doesn't have a good excuse for fouling so much.
Hmm. . . only 2 guys would foul out in 48 min. Interesting. Isn't that an indication that "foul trouble" is overrated? Maybe coaches shouldn't so readily pull their players when they are in "foul touble."
yeah, seems like it, but hard to say. I checked out PF/48min stats on the espn website. The vast majority of players would not foul out of a game (6 or greater),although a substantial number would be close (e.g., if you rounded up from 5). Also, as you would expect, few "star" players (an no superstars) would foul out on average. If you sort the list from most fouls/48 to least, almost all role players are up top (BTW: Adrian Griffin is on that list), and all your star players are at the very bottom (along with Moochie - he may be too slow to actually foul anyone). Interpret as you will...
I'm sure Moochie actually wanted to foul more often. His hair just got in the way. I think Phil Jackson is the coach that doesn't always pull his star players when they are in foul trouble. I guess he's banking on the notorious NBA "star treatment" for his advantage.
