Any of you guys watched the last Suns vs Mavs game? Amare was totally taken out of the game because he had no go to moves down low. He scores most of his points by Nash setting him up perfectly. Amare has ALONG way to go, but I do think he will be a great one. Right now I think Yao impacts the game much more so than Amare even though he doesnt score as much.

Agreed. Hopefully he won't get bloated and father many children too quickly though.

Yes he is better than Yao now, but I still would pick Yao over him because the intangibles Yao brings and the amount of attention he creates (despite being slower and not as good a scorer) impacts the game more than Amare.

Seriously, Yao's biggest improvement has more to do with his foul trouble and stamina more than it is his skills/talent level.

I have always maintained that Yao would have already been a great center in the league if he was about 4 inches shorter than he is now. His physical limitation is the only thing that concerns me, because I just don't think that his stamina level will ever improve significantly throughout his career. It is not Yao's fault that he tires out quickly, it is really due to his giant frame and huge lower body.
