Capela will and should start or say hello to the worst defensive and offensive rebounding team! We were bottom of the league last year with Dwight already and D-Mo didn't look that good after he came back.

Lol cool. What does that have to do with anything and why does it matter? The only statistics that matter are Ws and Ls and we have had a ton of Ls trying to fit a square peg (Dwight) on a board (NBA) that doesn't have any square holes. Rockets management didn't just get dumb all of the sudden no matter how badly the board wants to believe they did.

Dwight was a cancer. Ask Al Horford.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe the fact that it completely destroys your central claim that the Rockets were "SIGNIFICANTLY" better without Dwight the past two seasons.

    Clearly, that's nonsense.

Even this past season... a year in which the team stunk, they went 7-4 without Dwight for a winning percentage of .636

No matter where you look, the team was better without Dwight.

Capela's rebounding numbers were not much different from Dwight's. They were nearly identical, with Dwight being ever-so-slightly better.

Its a "newage" every 3 years with morey running the show.

This why houston will never have and deserve a winner. Too many fickle fans cult following a mediocre gm

Let's not forget Dwight has knee issues that will never go away. All health aside:

    Anderson/Gordon >>> Howard

I'm happier about being rid of TJones than Dwight.

Although some might argue that we're better off without Dwight, he leaves a huge gaping hole in rim protection and rebounding that people will need to step up and fill.

I'm still not comfortable with this roster until we get another glass cleaner up front.

    Based on last year's results...

    Rebounding? Yes. No doubt

Rim protection? No, not at all.

Having said that...an upgrade/additional piece at Center is necessary.

Yes but you have to realize when dwight wasn't playing, for some reason ariza and brewer decided to hit 3s and play some decent defense and get out in transition, but right now ariza cant make a damn layup and i cringe everytime brewer and ariza shoot a 3.

The truth is, the Rockets have no path to a championship during Harden's prime, and should focus on fielding a team competitive enough to sustain ticket sales and TV ratings. This is especially true if Durant signs with Golden State.

I stopped watching this season after McHale was fired (not because of that, but just the realization that they had no chance).

Agree, even though he was useful defensively, his inability to shoot free throws along with several other rockets made it difficult in close games. Can't have one of your best players missing 40-50% of their free throws on a regular basis. On another note, poor shooting in general killed the team last year. Don't care how great your defense is... you've still gotta hit open shots as a team.

It doesn't though. It's just an arbitrary metric you chose to try and disprove it. Look at the Ws and Ls. Go back and watch the Rockets without Howard on the court or in the game. Do you seriously consider the Rockets a better team with Dwight on it and if so, why?

No need to get salty, you can still follow him and his amazing metrics on the Hawks next year.

Please don't blame last year's horrendous season "solely" on Howard. Harden has just as ****ty of a season, coming into camp 1/2 ass with only Khloe on the mind. He got McHale fired and , honestly... tarnished his reputation quite a bit!!!

But we don't dare mention anything bad about Harden!!

Brewer was a joke. DMo injured. TJones was a joke!!

Howard did what he could with his "very limited" touches!!

He's gone!! Now HOU needs some kind of vet 5 asap

As opposed to last year when the Howard led defense was amazing.
