Some Perspective: Comparing this Recession to 70's and 80's

    2% is high. Historical default rate is about 1.2-1.3%. That's at least a 50% increase.

    Absolutely it's high. I'm not arguing the foreclosure rate isn't relatively high.

    Completely agreed..it's why I have no problem with helping out the banks...and am warming to nationalization in some form or fashion.

    make it happ'n, cap'n. they'll sell off an assload of distressed financial assets. those will work their way through the system and a lot of people will make a lot of money off it. there's precedent for that.
