This poll doesn't really make sense, since Hakeem DID in fact score a lot of points that year.

    Whatever.

I'll tell you what was a farce. Charles Barkley winning the 1993 MVP over Hakeem was a farce. Hakeem should have been back to back MVP in 1993 and 1994. The media gave it to Barkley because they wanted a Suns/Bulls finals that they had been hyping up throughout the season. Barkley was the default second best player in the league since he had dominated the Olympics in Barca, he was friends with Jordan and the trade to Phoenix sealed the media's wet dream. Several teams in the 1993 playoffs inlcuding the Rockets suffered since those playoffs were rigged. The Lakers got screwed in the first round, we got screwed against Seattle and Seattle got screwed against Phoenix.

Hakeem was the real MVP that year, the best player in the league and the Rockets should have gone to the finals. Justice was served in the next two years.

Non believers. Rudy wasn't just talking about 1995, he was talking about the battle of good vs evil to this day.

thank goodness we can contain that to clutchfans not let it spread.

i think my post was appropriate and proportianal. who the hell goes into a fan board and tells people to stop acting like fans? would he go to a bulls board and tell bulls fans to stop living in the past with michael jordan since they havent won a championship since 98?

    It's lewd, vesivius, salacious, outrageous!

I think you got negative rep for using the f word, he probably did too.

I do agree with you, that people who are "tired" of Hakeem threads on a board called Clutchfans may not be in tune of why this board was created.

But he's still posting on a thread where the topic is something that supposedly he's not interested in.

That's like saying you hate the Utah Jazz and you're riding shotgun with Karl Malone in a semi truck.

Why can't people respect the MVP award?

if THEIR favorite player and favorite team get it, they'll praise it, but if it's not their favorite player and/or team, then it's a farce.

you have to respect that. those years, there wasn't a clear cut dominate player like Olajuwon in 94.

Also, if you are a Rockets fan, you remember Nash killed us.

Not a farce, you realize if he was free agent those years, Clutchfans would beg Les to bring him in.

Considering those years, the main complaint was our point guard play.

Oh I didn't mention Nash to say he was a farce. He could have won it in 06/07 too. Same numbers and his team won 61 games. Then we'd be talking about the 3 time MVP.

That's how anything works. Obviously you'll have bias for your team. Objectivity is nobodies strong suit... especially on Clutchfans.

The MVP award is a farce, just as DPOY and Finals MVP. Any award for one player in team sports to me is ridiculous. I'm glad Hakeem shared the award as to me the Rockets team deserved an award that year for their 22-1 start and Hakeem wasn't the only playing very well. Thorpe was a beast, Maxwell came back with a vengeance etc. Though one can argue 92-93 was a far better year since they were a lot more consistent, after the 22-1 start the whole team didn't come to play every night.

What also is a farce: the all-star team, nba all 1st team, 1st defensive team. They only look at simple statistics, flashy players or marketable players. Mutombo was a great defender but 4 DPOY ? You seriously tell me during those seasons there wasn't any other great defender out there ? They simply hand it out, it's not even taken that serious by voters imo.

The MVP is a regular season award .
we've had a couple players win that award that went on to be hall of fame members
    So I respect it.
it means you helped your team do well.
