Sure: http://www.2shared.com/file/2679680/6952a833/rockets_offdef.html And this is the site I used to get team game logs for the current season: http://hosted.stats.com/nba/teamstats.asp?teamno=10&btnGo=Go&type=ologs
I'm actually wondering if Adelman is even showing up to practice. Or if he is, is he just walking in and saying "uuuh I gotta go watch some film so you guys shoot some free throws or scrimmage or just get MRIs or whatever" see you at the game tomorrow.
Anyone in here honestly say they felt better after the Charlotte win than the Boston loss?? I certainly dont. I would add the bad free throw shooting Detroit win, but hey, that was against one of the best teams in the league.
I did. After that win, we were 6-1. Now we're 15-17, and we could easily miss the playoffs altogether.
People forget that those Sac teams that went up against the Lakers were top 5 in defensive team in the league those years. Look up the stats.
do you really believe JVG told his players to walk the ball up court and remain stagnant and not go to the basket? do you think JVGs defensive intensity made the rockets shoot poorly on offense in the past?
Easy, you are talking to the same guy who started a thread after two games basically portraying everyone who had been critical of Mike James previously as someone who should go to, commit or do... Prematurely making big statements and trying to belittle others is what he thrives on. He might end up being right about Adelman, he might end up being wrong. But do the numbers he posted have any news value? Knowing our record as compared to last year's at this stage, it would be stunning if we had a record that much worse than last year's while having better offensive and defensive efficiency.
i am just curious: how long does adelman get before we can point the finger at him? i've seen you mention in a few different threads how he needs more time. to an extent i agree. but in your opinion, how much time does he need in order for us to fairly point the finger at him as "THE PROBLEM"?
I would be interested to see the numbers now, especially since the Rockets are winning at about the same pace as last year...... As I said, it was WAY too early to panic, the team just needed time to gel..... Sam, what are the numbers telling you now? DD
So far this season, Rockets have a 105.3 offense (17th), and 101.9 defense (2nd). Last year, it was a 106.0 offense (15th), and 100.7 defense (3rd). Kind of close. Rockets haven't been blowing out teams as frequently this year, but they are only 1 or 2 games behind last year's pace. They have a tough schedule ahead in March, though.
though i think a season would be fair, i'm not hostile to any current constructive critique. most of the really critical stuff can be dismissed as sour grapes from supporters of the prior coach.
haha ok I GET IT. You have bumped 3 threads in the forum over a month old to prove your point. I am happy things are looking better! However, your it seems like you may be secretly celebrating a bit early, as the schedule begins to toughen up. These threads may be bumped against your favor in a months time (not by me). I hope not though.
Well, Mike James has been balling it up... on the bench. Anyways, Sam wasn't the only one jumping ship and putting way to much stock into these numbers. However, since he and many others who have posted in this thread have put so much importance on these knickerblogger stats...let's take a look now. 89.4 18 Pace 106.6 18 Off 103.4 2 Def We have improved two slots in off. and four positions in def. Given our poor start, these numbers aren't bad. Our offense is continuing to improve, but I believe that unless we go GS or Nuggets... we can't possibly make too big a jump. Defensively these numbers show we are elite, when you take into account that we started a 8th place 22 games in, the ground we made up is impressive. Basically we have been playing the best defense in the league for 2008. Compound this with an increase of off output and I would say this team is starting to be very similar (statistically) to JVG. Ironically a little better at def and a little worse at off. Go figure. I say with Landry, Scola, and Brooks getting better, the Rockets will see an increase in off and their def should remain at an elite level.
LOL - I am trying to make a point that all these people that panicked, did so way too early. That the Rockets had a 33% roster turnover, and 44% of the 9 man rotation was different, and you added in a new coach and it was going to take some time to gel, but that they would right the ship. And.....they did.....and the team is only going to get better. As for the rest, I get poked at when I am wrong, so fair is fair.... DD
