ryan bowen is the worst player in the nba. why we couldn't bring over marcus fizer instead is ridiculous.
Watched that game a couple of months ago. That game was a huge reason most people outside of Houston back then (myself included) couldn't figure out why RR never made it. He has size, he can handle sometimes, sometimes he can shoot ...
I'm telling you Bowen has pictures of LES in some type of compromising position and he is using them to keep him and JVG employed. I am shocked Bowen hasn't received a Matt Maloney deal for 6 years.
You have no idea of what you are talking about!! Rhodes wasn'ta great player but he was much more a NBA player than is Ryan Bowan!!
classic example of a head case. this has nothing to do with him being a head case but a friend and bumped into him in a club that season and we were telling all he needed to do was get a consistent jumper and he would be alright. we were drunk and clearly bothering him. but anyway if you remembered he transferred from Kentucky to I think Fresno with Tark because he couldn't handle Patino. I believe he was the top recruit out of NY, he played for bobby hurley's dad, I guess that's actually new jersey, but I remember he was in si in high school in an article about hurley's dad and his h.s. program.
i never believe those friend of a friend inside the rockets stuff, the one i heard that was laughable was dream said "they go or i go" about horry and sam because they were takin "his spotlight", that the team didnt like him, then he "tried to pull the same stuff" with steve and cat,but the rockets let him go beacuse this time his skills were declined, pretty silly huh? considering barkley has a big share of the spotlight... the rudy thing, maybe, max,na dream, perhaps, tmac will BE FINE NEXT YR
His source is probably Bill the Rocket Guy or the guy who runs hoopsworld. Therefore, a person with no real information. Just hypothetical what ifs.
Bill the Rocket never played for the Rockets. All I remember from Rhodes' was that he was a heck of a defender, but he couldn't shoot the ball worth crap. He played a little one here, and he did the same with Utah in their Summer League, but the guy was no threat whatsoever from the perimeter. His defense, that's another story.
his source is obviously Thomas Hamilton too much information to obtain over a burrito, so there was obviously multiple burritos involved
What ever grains of truth there may be in anything this ex-player says there's enough that reeks of heresay and revisionist history that made it a pathetic read. The funny thing is the JVG bit. I wouldn't care if JVG were gone yesterday, but if I were he I wouldn't care about what anyone thinks other than Yao and T-Mac. The other 13 guys, well I'm a fond of a couple but I don't see any of those guys being a problem for JVG at all. Well, unless Sura got really wiggy...
oh my god. i'd like to nominate this for post of the year. and about Rhodes...man he was a pretty good player but he always looked....high. I'm not saying the man did any extracurricular things but he seemed high and aloof. Maybe that's why he was so inconsistent. He had the size, the speed, and the D, but man....he looked high.
I'm still waiting to hear what Lampe's talent is. If I had to guess I would go with singing or eveningwear.
I don't care whom the source is. I will agree on most of his opinion. Rudy, CD and JVG are all nice to players. They are good guys, but that won't bring us champions. It's so annoying to watch the NBA finals with our enemy, Dallas, playing there. But the worse is, I don't think we will be there next several years. This is just a bad team. We have 2 superstars. That's all. I wonder when it's the next time we can waive someone under amnesty clause. Either JW or SS should go. And, please get rid of JVG. He is never a champion coach.
Peterson could just be parroting the company line here. If TMac's back is indeed chronic, then that would spell absolute disaster for the Rockets. In fact, I think that is the single biggest fear of most everyone here. You take TMac out of the equation and this team will find itself in the NBA lotto for years to come. However, let's say that this is true. Exactly how can the Rockets expect to keep something like this under wraps considering the uphill road they face in their own division? Crossing their fingers and hoping for the best doesn't seem like a really good plan with much chance of success. I just hope to God this guy is wrong.
All this talk about Rhodes got me excited. I loved that guy. Off the top of my head I clearly remember him ripping MJ, GP, T. Hardaway, well thats all I remember, but when I was younger I had a huge mental list. He wouldnt just steal the ball from those stars, he would take it away like they were scrubs leaving them with the most startled expressions. Ive never seen a player steal the ball the way Rhodes did. But he had no offense, and when a guy drops a weight on his chest its a sign.
