i think when Tate comes back we’re really going to see a pinch point on playing time. How do Tari, EG, KJ, and Tate find minutes? We need to make sure Tari gets his minutes; I don’t see room for 3 more guys at that position. At least one of those guys will need to be moved soon.

We were discussing this in another thread - the rotation is just too long. It's simply a product of having too many young players who need developmental minutes or who have earned minutes.

The two biggest logjams are at the wing and center spots ....

If it were up to me, EG would never play another minute. That solves a big problem opening up minutes at the 2-3-4 spots for Tari, KJM & Tate when he returns ...

I wouldn't play Mathews a whole heck of a lot either, he just doesn't have enough upside as a smaller 3D wing that's very inconsistent. Now if he was shooting 40+% from deep, that would be another story.

IF there is a trade to be had for EG, I'd be looking to attach both Nix & Mathews to that deal which opens up minutes for JC & Tyty and allows for breaking the returning salary into smaller chunks with 3 roster spots open as a result.

Ultimately, I think EG is bought out after the deadline, a big part of that being not wanting to take back salary beyond seasons end. Tilman & Stone have both made comments about big acquisitions in the coming offseason - they won't be willing to rent much, if any cap space as a result. IF they get it right, they could have a 50 win team next season ....

I don't see a solution to the Fernando, Sengun, Garuba situation ..... they have all played well at times and it's hard not to play them and I really don't want to see either of Garuba or Sengun moved at this time. We really don't know what we have here but eventually I think you have to make a decision between Sengun & Garuba because your other big needs to be a more traditional big - rim protection, rim runner type.

I'd also continue with the KPJ at the point for the duration of the season. I'm not looking to add W's by upgrading that spot during the season.

They need to get down to an 8-9 man rotation ideally but I'm not so sure that happens even if you jettison EG, Mathews & Nix because of the logjam at the 5.

    KPJ / JC
    Green / ^^
    KJM / Tari / Tate
    Jabari / ^^
    Sengun / Garuba / Bruno

Nice to see we have more or less a consensus of the core: JGreen+Sengun+Jabari+Tari.

We have strongest at 3 (Eason/KJM and occasionally KPJ), weakest at 1 and need a sub at 4. We need to give immediate minutes to TyTy and to Josh for preparing them next year's back-up positions

As the team full of talent, to finish bottom 6 is out of question and there is little chance for Wemby&Scoot. My prediction for next year:

-Anthony Black or FA sign/TyTy/Josh/occasional KPJ
    -JGreen/KPJ/Amen Thompson(if drafted)/Josh
    -Tari/KJM/KPJ(occasionally)
    -Jabari/A.Bona(Bucks pick)/FA
    -Sengun/Bruno/Garuba/Jabari(occasionally)

Having a versatile 6th man KPJ is a big plus. Josh should be given some time before deciding extend or not. Likely he will be successful (or at least I hope so). Bona of UCLA (6'10", 7'4" wing-span) will be a wonderful back-up to Jabari, a bigger Zion, athletic and powerful.

Hope we will be ble to draft Black or A.Thompson. I'll be very happy for 6'7" Black.

I feel the same way about him. He is a longer term project to see his full maturity as a player. I think he has enough talent to be a 6th man but is held back by his lack of focus and maturity. He could do a lot better with a stricter coach.

    Dec 15th coming up

Lakers opened up a roster spot in anticipation of a trade

Trae Young is rebelling against Nate McMillan.....requesting trade to Lakers is rumored
May be shooting poorly to sabotage the Hawks.

Rockets have options to get in on a deal now or later

You know what it will take to get Trae Young? I dont think the Lakers have that much to offer and if the Rockets get involved it would be one of their young stars, Green or Jabari....I dont see that happening at all.

I can see Tate and/or Gordon being moved soon. It's hard for me to believe Tate's ankle has been hurting that long

the Rockets were very clear on what they wanted to see from JC and he went out there and did complete opposite, to the point they sit him so Bari and Tari could actually get touches

Who cares - he's at least a legit all NBA player in his 20's.

You can't turn down a 1 star Michelin restaurant because it's not 2 or 3 star when your other option is just years and years of Bubba Gump.

agree with you about shortening the rotation and the log jam at the 3. Even if we get rid of EG we still have Eason, KJ, and Tate to find minutes for. I guess I don’t see the center position as much of a logjam because Garuba can play some 4. While I like what Bruno brings, I still think the org should be focused on giving Sengun as many minutes as possible.

I do not want to see the KPJ point guard experiment continue. I think it is hurting the development of other players. I’m all about the tank but I value player development more. And I think it would be good to give kpj more time off the ball, where he can really excel. I want to see him coming off the bench playing big minutes at the 2 and even the 3 (which is why I think we need to move at least two of our SF’s, not just EG (who isn’t a real SF anyway).

I’d bring in TyTy and a veteran through trade and have them run the point for the rest of our season.

    Sengun/Bruno/Garuba
    Jabari/Eason/Garuba
    Eason/Tate/KPJ
    Green/KPJ/Christopher
    TyTy/Vet/Christopher

kJ, Matthews, Nix and EG traded for significant return.

I like Trae, and he fits better with Jalen but he is not efficient for those that want efficiency.

I would rather not go after Trae Young.

I watched "We Talk Hawks" after their loss to the Knicks. Trae was blasted for being a diva, shoots too much, loves the 3 but can't hit it consistent.

Defensive liability. I threw in that last part.

Suspicion Trae doing a C Wood to get coach fired
    or ticket out of town.

I hate that more than quitting at halftime.....
    quitting on a team permanently.

It's amazing to watch other team forums complaining about the same thing other teams are as well:
    We need a point guard
    Coaching is pathetic
    Stars don't share the ball
    Isolation basketball can't win
    Our shooters are pathetic
    We have no rim protection
Our play calling at the end of games is terrible
    Etc, etc,.etc

I might take back Nunn and picks Bogdanovic.
    Ship out EG

Agreed about getting rid of Gordon, Nix, and Mathews and shorten the rotation.

I would rather have TyTy play the backup PG. JC's potential at the PG spot is even worse than KPJ, IMO. He should be Green backup and see if he is worth keeping long term.

I wouldn't hesitate to attach Tate instead of Mathews in a Gordo trade if that's what it take to get some value back. Tate has as little upside as Mathews but probably has more trade value. If we keep Mathews, he should be the 11th or 12th guy on the bench.
