Kobe was up over 20+ FGA when Shaq was on the Lakers, MJ was well over 20+ FGA with Pippen, Wade has been up near 20FGA since Shaq arrived on the Heat.

Bottom line is you need to give guys like Kobe and T-Mac their 20FGA no matter who they are playing with, and the team can still be very successful with that formula.

Exactly. A lot of these FGA come from the big man getting double teamed and passing it back out.

Ok, I looked it up. Your sample size is too small. Battier is much better from the corners, as proven last season:

    left corner 52-123 (42.3 %)
    left wing 16-51 (31.4 %)
    top of key 12-35 (34.3 %)
    right wing 32-69 (46.4 %)
    righ corner 45-94 (47.9 %)

Clearly, he likes the corners the most, and historically seems to be most effective from there. For him, it's either right around the basket or from the corners where he seems to have his sweet spots.

    See for yourself ;).

By the way, Alston should never shoot from anywhere except the top of the key...

Year to year, there can be wide variance in a player's shot chart efficiencies due to any number of factors. Maybe Shane didn't practice from the corners as much in the offseason. Or maybe the shots he's getting in the corners are different (e.g. earlier in the shot clock) in the new offense.

At any rate, even considering that Shane should eventually shoot better from the corners, I don't agree with the OP's point that he can't shoot from anywhere but the corners and that he should stop taking shots from the top of the key. Why tell a player to stop taking shots that he's been hitting a high percentage on?

I think that yall need to realize that Adelman's offense is a work in progress and it takes more then a few months for a new coach to get a team to completely different style of basketball.

Right now we are running the JVG-Adelman offense.
