The Problem is that Republicans refuse to budget for necessary personnel to sort through the applications, and make cuts to the administrative positions needed. Then the Republican base cries because the people applying for asylum can't be processed. Almost all of them will not be granted asylum. If you really want them gone, then increase funding to get the necessary positions to do the job.

That is correct. This isn't something new. Let the applicants be processed as quickly as possibly and more than 90% of them will be gone. That will mean funding more personnel and getting them in place as quickly as possible. Republicans refused a bill that increased judges, training for judges and other personnel aimed at reducing the backlog.

I didn't say entry for new applicants. I am talking about clearing the backlog of asylum seekers already here as well as the applicants currently in cue whether they are in the country or not.
Applicants currently on the waiting list in Mexico do not get any sort of automatic entry into usa. @Commodore thinks that if you apply for assylm in Mexico then you automatically get temporary entry into usa which isn't true. The only way to get in is if your application clears the vetting process. Folks on the left say we have a labor shortage and biden is right by allowing people in. MAGA and right wingers show videos of apprehensions and claim border is open and were invading. Literally nobody has any idea what the hell the rules are on either side. All this confusion and disinformation is what smugglers use to brainwash folks Its this reoccurring disinformation cycle that fuels this entire problem
They get to stay in the country pending their asylum hearing. And if they get rejected at their immigration hearing, no one arrests them or deports them. They are free to leave the hearing. They have to self deport or get picked up later by an ICE officer.
