But now reading some about the Dignity Act, it isn't very appealing to your regular illegal immigrant. It only offers temporary protected status, so they would still be subject to the whims of the Administration. To come out of the shadows and register with the government for a temporary status might just put you on ICE's radar to get deported later. So even if it somehow got passed, I think the effort to normalize status for "the good ones" would probably fall flat. It might just be a Trojan Horse to get some Dem votes for more enforcement. But, I do like that it tries to address some of the plumbing in immigration enforcement, though I don't know if I'd like how they address it.
