You can "wager" - but the number of illegal aliens in the United States hasn't increased by 30,000,000 recently. It isn't really a serious discussion. We can debate the total number of illegal aliens in the USA at any point in time, including now - but there has never been a 30,000,000 increase at any point in time. In fact the total number of illegal aliens in the in USA right now isn't much different than it was about 20 years ago.

Handouts in the 1970's were not a fantasy. In fact a higher percentage of the GDP went to Welfare spending in the 1970's than now.

So, four (or five, it isn't clear if the 4 year old with cancer is the same four year old from the first sentence) minor children were sent with their mothers who were being deported? Did the mom's want them to be left in the United States? Did they have people that were not being deported to stay with? There doesn't seem to be much in the article about what the options were for leaving the children in the country.

As an immigrant in the 70's, there were lots of programs to help people back then even if the economy wasn't great. A lot more than there is today. The idea they people are getting more handouts today versus before is pure propaganda and fantasy.

You can look at the federal budget, state budget, and city/municipal budget..... it's retired folks and pensioners that are consuming a large bulk of our tax dollars plus military.

The total numbers are irrelevant to the fact that they have absolutely no right to be here and can be removed at any time simply for being present in violation of immigration laws.

    None

    Zip

    Zilch

    Nodda.

I really don't understand why some try to defend them when they are a net negative on our country.

You can try to dispute that but like I said in a post last week that you conveniently avoided responding to, I remember an America before they took over sectors of the economy and displaced millions of Americans in starter jobs and skilled trades.
Our homes got built, our lawns got mowed, our fruit got picked and our laundry & dishes got done all without the benefit of illegal labor.

The cost in opportunity alone is overwhelming and has fundamentally changed our society from one of doers and fixers to one of lazy entitled chumps who all expect $100k a year but have ¢50 skills.

You also can't dispute the fact that adding <insert whatever large number here> hasn't had a negative effect on home prices, particularly harming low and middle class Americans and first time buyers.

    CNN has poisoned you brain.

And yet you bring them up to boost your own views..... So you admit your "facts" are useless? Interesting....

Because we don't believe that and you are just rehashing the same tired arguments that your kind has been putting forth since the late 19th century.

    You just remember nostalgia.....

America was built on waves of cheap immigrant labor.....

Sounds like an entitled person issue. Nothing stopping lazy, entitled white folks from picking veggies, washing dishes, and other menial jobs.

Nothing stopping the "natives" from enrolling in community college to learn a trade.

LMAO. I love how this has become a MAGA talking point..... How about we build more houses?!

The exact same thing would be happening regardless of immigration status.... MAGA stopped believing in supply and demand.... Unbelievable how stupid y'all are.

FOX News has poisoned your brain.

This treatment of immigrants will go down in history sort of like the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, the Japanese internment during WW II, Jim Crowe and other disgraces in American history.

"Dad, grand dad, how could you have been not only so racist, but so economically short-sided and stupid as to deport lots of folks who were helping America in so many ways?"

The reliance on cheap, illegal labor is almost a necessity for a service economy that hasn't provided meaningful wage growth for the vast majority of people in 30 years. People don't have enough money to buy the things and experiences they want at American-made prices. There's an interesting moral critique of an American consumerism that relies on exploitative labor practices in there, but I don't hear much of that in the discourse now.

You think illegals are responsible for high housing prices? Illegals are the backbone of the residential construction industry and bring down labor costs severely while none of them actually are able to buy houses. The idea that they are responsible for high prices shows how utterly clueless you are. Illegals dont qualify for section 8 housing. You have no idea what the heck you're blabbering about

Youre a old brainwashed boomer who gets his news from newsmax while calling others brainwashed.

I cant believe he thinks that illegals are responsible for middle class families not being to afford starter homes when they're the ones who build it for cheap while none of them buy them.

Its just insane how rotten these people's brains are to the core.

All because you can't compete. That's my take away from listening to the "natives".

Slavery.... Jim Crow.... Anti- immigration..... you conservatives have a lot of history of not being able to compete.

    1. Fact, you dont understand the definition of the word ILLEGAL
    2. Lets deport them and find out who's correct.
    3. See above
    4. See above
    5. Why do we need to build more houses if we're deporting millions of illegals? There goes that word again that you dont seem to be able to comprehend the definition of, but hey I may be dumb and stupid according to you. But I understand the meaning of words apparently whatever school you went to couldn't teach your dumbass even something this simple. That's if you even went to school and after reading this post that question is very much up in the air.

Its funny they'll sit here and blame illegals for americans being priced out of homes but will never blame private equity which owns more homes than all illegals combined multiplied by 10. They have no issue with their orange messiah giving private equity more tax cuts and deregulate the market more which distorts the market even more for regular Americans.

Yeah it's the illegals and not the greedy corporations. Brainwashed people

    What?

Deport, follow the laws (We are a nation of laws) and lets find out if we can compete. I'm pretty sure we've done a good job of competing long before this latest Dem encouraged invasion of illegals. There's that word again. You should look up it's definition.

Patently false argument that we cant suvive as a nation without illegal (There's that word again) immigration.
