There are definitely Americans that will be roofers and builders and truck drivers - but not at the wages being offered now. It will cause inflation as the cost of everything will go up.

So, what you're saying is....we should have minimum wage laws, safe working environment laws, and laws against child labor... but those laws should only apply to American citizens, and not illegal aliens? ...and that it's okay for illegal aliens to come to the US and take our labor jobs? Nothing in America was ever built, nor was any food grown prior to the surge of illegal immigration from Mexico. In the 1920s, everyone lived in the woods and were forced to be hunter gatherers. I thought everyone knew that.
Lol do you really believe those are the jobs that are being taken by illegal immigrants, what world do you even live in? Do you honestly believed the American-owned roofing company doesnt employ those same immigrant workers. Most Americans avoid those jobs. There would be a massive shortage in those jobs if you deported all of them, yes. That is just the truth, that is data driven.

No - that isn’t what I am saying at all. I didn’t say anything about paying illegal aliens less than minimum wage, I didn’t say anything about children working and I certainly didn’t say anything about unsafe working conditions. I don’t know why you jumped to that conclusion. Good luck getting roofers, construction workers and other similar type jobs filled for close to minimum wage. Even the illegal immigrants don’t do those jobs for less than minimum wage - especially once they have done it very long. However, the cost of all of those jobs - and many others will go up without illegal aliens and immigrants. The need for these jobs will also overall go down with 5-10% of the country literally gone and deported. Completely eliminating illegal aliens will have massive economic consequences and inflation will likely be very high as well. The cost of food products will go up- the cost is transportation… cost of house building… entire towns will be shuttered. As there are towns staying afloat because of illegal aliens.
Im already seeing more become their own bosses. Roofing materials cost around $5k, labor $3k (10 guys $250 +, no one is making less than $200/day for labor) on a $15-18k job. All that middle slack goes to the "boss". Now the guys doing the work become the boss , pay 8 guys a little more, and still make a far bigger chunk than if they were labor only.
He doesn't seem to be capable of constructing an argument because he doesn't have one other than slave labor is good. And America needs slave labor to function. This is great news for people who actually do the work and have an entrepreneurial spirit. Take roofing. Previously you have an owner who pays $5k for materials, $3k for labor on a $15-18k job (10 guys $275/day). He pockets the slack. Now 2 of those workers start their own company, pay 8 dudes a little more ($350-400) and take home the slack. While providing a competitive bid to counter the bosses who over quote. Inflation with crazy with record illegal immigration due to bad policy and govt spending. So actually addressing the root issue helps with that instead of importing more slave labor
