There are about 300K children of illegals who are missing in this country. I have no doubts many of them are being trafficked and are living in hell. Cabinet positions require Senate confirmation, but presidents have skirted that check in the past by appointing people to have a policy focus working under the president's own authority. So, we have national security advisers, for example, who are not confirmed by the Senate. Anyone called a czar is similarly unconfirmed. Obama used that a lot when McConnell was slow-rolling confirmations. Trump really doesn't need to go this route because Republicans control the Senate -- he should be able to get his Cabinet confirmed quickly. That we have historically tolerated these non-confirmed position takes power away from the Senate, and we probably shouldn't have done so.
