Don't agree with them but they do have their 1st amendment right to peaceably assemble. Just like the far right's neo-Nazis do...

Mayor Adams' attempt to stop buses of migrants from arriving in NYC rejected by State Supreme Court

    https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/nyc-charter-bus-lawsuit-rejected-asylum-seeker-crisis/

    excerpt:

NEW YORK – The New York State Supreme Court has ruled against Mayor Eric Adams' attempt to block migrant buses from arriving in New York City.

The mayor had requested a preliminary injunction barring Texas-based bus companies from transporting asylum seekers to the city.

The New York Civil Liberties Union argued the mayor's move was unconstitutional. The court agreed and rejected the mayor's request.

Tuesday, the mayor's office said it respects the court's decision.

The Kremlin’s legacy of ties to Hezbollah, the Taliban, and other terrorist actors should disabuse Washington of any hope for common cause.

Russia and Terrorism — An Old Alliance

Russia has no particular objection to terrorist methods since absolute ruthlessness is a hallmark of its own military and security strategies. A long series of poisonings at home and abroad, sometimes using radioactive and chemical weapons, simply underlines the point. On the battlefield, Russia employs approaches at or beyond the far edge of the laws of war. In particular, its air force had deliberately targeted hospitals in both Syria and (on more than 700 occasions) Ukraine. Its political leaders have signed off on the armed forces using tactics — like rape, torture, and summary executions — which if not terrorism, are designed to terrorize.

The Kremlin’s relationship with Hamas has been reinforced by its dealings since the October 7 terrorist attack. It took almost no time for Russia to invite the top Hamas leadership to Moscow, despite Hamas murdering 16 Russian citizens. Subsequently, Russia publicly strengthened ties with the group.

For over a decade, Russia also has collaborated with Hezbollah forces in Syria. The joint operations included training to make Hezbollah more effective in future conflicts. Russia’s growing relationship with, and reliance on Iran — a long-established terrorism sponsor — as a strategic ally and arms provider

You get someone like Trump as our leader again and he will just take Putin's word as truth when it involves them poisoning someone, aiding terrorists, or any other evil things they are doing. Putin says, "I didn't do it" and Trump will just say he believes him. It's happened before, and will happen again.

The history of the Soviet Union especially with terrorism is long and deep rooted. One has to remember that a lot of the terrorist organizations in the last 70 years or so were explicitly communist/socialist. Red Army Faction, SLA, PLO, Weather Underground, PFLP, etc. and were overtly or covertly supported by the Soviet Union. That Putin, a KGB holdover would continue his support for the same should surprise no one.

Agree, and the KGB holdover Putin knows exactly how to manipulate a guy like Trump in his quest to destroy Western World countries that stand up to his terrorism and power quests.

Immigration needs to have a plan, we need more immigration but too much at one time disrupts society, we are seeing that in the EU right now too many immigrants, not really integrating but trying to set up the same society in another country even though where they came from was a disaster because of that type of society.

I would like to see some incentives for immigrants to assimilate. Like we grant you assylum to enter the USA and work, you have 3 years to learn English, and you will be tested, you get 3 chances to pass the test if you can't pass you are deported back to the country you came from.

If they pass the English test, they get 2 years to become a US Citizen and take the oath, and pledge.

And there would be financial incentive to pass the English and citizenship tests.

1 year pass the English test = $3,000
2 years pass the English test = $2,000
    3 years - last chance = $1,000

Same for Citizenship - you must pass the English test first.....

    But Citizenship gets you $5,000

That way people that come to this country are incentivized to stay here and integrate........

I am just spit balling here, but if we don't have a plan all of this can backfire.....and society can tear itself apart.

People just don't want to talk about the hard stuff anymore...

    1. We need more immigrants to keep our economy growing.
    2. We need to balance them out - as too many will hurt current society
    3. We need those that do immigrate to integrate into our society

My .02. - and illegal immigration gets none of these incentives and immediate deportation when caught.

    DD

PS. If any Americans are pissed that we are paying immigrants, than they can all take the English test and get the money too - 3 chances, and take the citizenship test as well....everyone wins.

We don’t need to pay immigrants to assimilate. Most immigrant families in the US assimilate within a generation or two. One of the biggest complaints among immigrant parents is how the first and second generation start losing their previous culture including their language.

The biggest issue is to allow recently arriving immigrants to settle, get work and educational opportunities. After that they will larger take care of themselves

Is there any data you can use to express your sentiments about immigrants and cultural change?

The only reason anyone should be concerned for labor migrants is because they are a n exploited group of humans. If you worry about them from a perspective of being a harm to society rather than a victim, you've been brainwashed by white nationalist rhetoric.

The biggest issue is that Islam is not and does not want to be compatible with the culture of Western societies. Whether Islam undermines social cohesion, women's rights, rights of LGBTQIA+ people in Western countries through "legal" or "illegal" immigration just describes the way the tumor got into the body.

Yes, the problem is that, if you wait for the assimilation - 1 to 3 generations it takes a long time, and you would need to SLOW immigration so as not to disrupt society.

I was thinking of a way to accelerate it and encourage those coming here in the 1st generation to embrace it.
