Sorry guy, but that really is true, there are many, many Democrats in favor of open borders and in favor of illegal immigration. I'm not sure if it's just that you haven't been paying attention or what, but that's an increasingly popular stance for Democrats. Now sure, it's not a stance held by all Democrats, but it is held by quite a few.
No, it isn't true. And before you post the already debunked picture of Ellison with the open borders t-shirt again, you might want to check out the clarification of the shirt. It isn't referencing an unsecured border. But when truth runs into whatever narrative you wish was true, you will always choose your own fictional narrative. The number of high-profile Democrats that support illegal immigration and open borders number between 0 and 4. The number of items of on any Democratic platform advocating open borders and advocating illegal immigration is zero.
Or maybe it was just that, despite deporting a record number of people during his administration and dramatically increasing annual budgets for ICE, you never would've acknowledged that the Obama Administration broadly enforced immigration policy (and sought solutions for nuanced groups like Dreamers alongside Republican Congressmen).
I agree there have been so many people that have done it the right way these types of entries have to stop.
Why does any president have to represent country over party after this shitfisted ongoing grab for votes?
That is a good question. I heard a comment from a radio station about this recently: That is that the capitalism system in this country creates a two party system, one for rich, one for poor. No party cares for middle class, either party is working for either rich or poor, middle class is always victim. That is why Trump is working for rich, and Obama was working for poor.
Democrats CLEARLY support illegal immigration, at every step. They are also advocates of policies that actively encourage even more illegal immigration. No, they don't come right out and say it, because that wouldn't wash, politically. But make no mistake as to what they actually stand for. Why? Because they think it benefits them politically. Personally, I think they've can way too far off the mainstream path for that to actually be true, but they seem all too glad to rush towards that cliff. I guess we shall see how it works out. I'm curious, FB...how many Democrats at all would you think fall into your high profile category. 10? in which case 4 is...40%? FWIW...establishing sanctuary cities and zones is, in fact, advocating for illegal immigration and open borders. Both are, in fact, items on Democratic platforms...and have in fact been based. I could point out that this also means that treason is on the Democratic platform (actively working against the U.S. government)...but I won't.
Good question. I've always felt this was at the root of our political problem (or maybe the most significant symptom)...wherein we focus on politics and not the problems. The President to me is the leader of the country. As such, he can no longer be the leader of his party, as doing so actively works against the wishes of a near majority of Americans. But I also realize that this view will never come to fruition, even though I think it is conceptually sound. The POTUS only seems to actually represent the entire US when it comes to foreign relations, and even that has been questioned heavily in recent decades. Domestically, the POTUS basically represents half of the people. This is true regardless of which side of the aisle the POTUS came from. So, the shitfisted grab for votes simply keeps on increasing. Politicians spend the VAST majority of their time getting relected, and almost none of their time doing their job. Newsweek, I think, did a study on this many years ago (when Tip O'Neil was the leading Democrat), and it found that most people in Congress spend over 95% of their time doing things to get re-election, and, therefore only 5% or less of their time doing their jobs. There is of course gray area here (is sending out information packets on various issues doing their job, or getting re-elected...well, it's probably both). But the point is that the shitfisted grab for votes is certainly nothing new. It's been the main focus for decades..if not actually centuries. And we keep reelecting them...so whose fault is it, really? As the saying goes, in a democracy, you get the government you deserve. 'We' (the American voter) seem to want the shitfisted grab for votes, because that's who we keep electing.
young folks nowadays dont even know the the difference between Dem & Rep, and what each party stand on on immigrations.
and there's no evidence there AREN'T any middle eastern terrorists among them, but better to be on the safe side?
wishful thinking, but that's definitely not reflected in the media and by them folks like LULAC and other "civil right" and "immigrant" advocates.
High profile Democrats? All the Dem Senators, Most of the Dem governors, a dozen or so random Democrats from the past. Establishing sanctuary cities is not advocating for open borders and illegal immigration.
Former New York city mayor and media billionaire Michael Bloomberg (D-NY) tells the Democrats that they need to tell the caravan to turn back: Of course Bloomberg is exactly right, Democrats should speak out and call on the invaders to turn back. But instead, they continue to endorse this oncoming mob by their silence.
I don't know many democrats that support unregulated illegal immigration. I know a lot of democrats that believe in amnesty for illegal immigrants that have been in the USA for decades. I know very, very few democrats that believe in a completely open border. Most people are not the extreme on the issue to the left or the right. It benefits democrat voters to have unregulated borders? I don't believe that...... and if that is the case, then it benefits Republicans to limit blacks, the poor and unmarried women from voting because that group doesn't typically vote Republican. Do you believe that? Do you believe that Republicans do not want blacks, Hispanics, the poor and women to vote? If so, how can you support a blatantly racist party? It is advocating for illegal immigration is the same way it is racist or oppressive for Republicans to put further restrictions of efforts to get black, Hispanics and the poor and women to vote? So be really careful playing the absolute game....... because everyone turns out looking ugly in the mirror.
Yes...... I agree with you, which makes it so disgusting that our President has not spoken out on all the racist White Nationalists in the USA and their actions. Instead he continues to endorse the racist oncoming mob by his silence.
