Do I like what? The proposed bipartisan Senate proposal? I don't like 100% of it, but that's what happens when a bipartisan bill gets worked out... there will be parts both sides will be happy with and parts that both sides won't like. But the majority of the proposal I like and it does go a long way to addressing the border security problem while also addressing Ukraine and Israel. Earlier this year, republicans demanded that no funding for Ukraine would happen unless tied to a border solution. At least 80% of what republicans demanded are in this proposal. So of course, maga republicans oppose. They lie about what it does (eg letting 5,000 people into the country... a complete lie). They see turning their back on any border solution as a campaign strategy. They think they lose the opportunity for photo ops. They oppose anything that might be seen as a Biden success. Instead, they oppose this as a way of helping trump. And opposing Ukraine aid benefits putin. There is no way to deny this.

Note the term "encounters". That is the trigger that "closes the border." Not the number of migrants that can enter the country. Encounters mean migrants apprehended, migrants deemed inadmissible, and migrants expulsed at the border.
