When will you figure out and accept both sides are NOT alike? I'll give it to @StupidMoniker because he can make a somewhat compelling argument at times but you sounds like an ignorant old fool.

Democrats believe in democracy still, Republicans believe in a populist leader that doesn't give two ****s about the constitution so vote for "not him again"...

I like how @Sajan stated you sound like you aren't a native English speaker...maybe he was on to something...

When you accept you're naïve about politics. Stop believing your party really gives a **** about you. We've been around this a thousand times. There are few pragmatic politicians.

The inherent flaw in the self righteous liberal mentality is they believe they know whats best for everyone and act like they care for the betterment for all. If they truly believed this, they would (ie: people like you) spend a good portion of their life helping in their community instead of arguing on the internet. Communities that come together put nonsensical political BS aside and get things done.
That said, I had always been a big critic of Obama, however hindsight, I have a lot of respect for the man.

Again, conservatives dont hide their bigotry. I am not going to support the lesser of two evils.

Yea, but to be fair, this was an emergency request, right? 5-4 grants the request. The case will be heard in a few weeks, IIRC.

They've already taken the case. The outcome won't be favorable for a significant segment of the country. However, I can confidently say that only one segment is being called to turn to violence and might actually do so if the ruling is not in their favor.

If you can't see the difference then you are part of the problem. It's democracy vs autocracy and your talking points mimic Russian propaganda if you haven't realized it. Get off social media and speak with real people, it's a bigger deal than you believe.

The barriers work where they are. Why would a barrier in place A stop someone from crossing where there is no barrier in place B?

I don't think you heard right.

The key is being patrolled, even if remotely. A physical barrier not being patrolled is pretty useless, whereas a non-physical barrier being patrolled is useful. Ideally, having both is optimal, but cost is always a factor, so the choice boils down to maximizing ROI.

What? Illegal immigrants won't die if they stay in Mexico (or Guatemala or Nicaragua or Panama or El Salvador or Costa Rica or Honduras or Belize). They aren't crossing through Mordor or the Aiel Waste or Arrakis or whatever other death land you can imagine to get from Venezuela to the United States, they are crossing through a half dozen countries where millions of people live full lives with life expectancy in the low to mid 70s (the United States sits at 76). I don't support allowing unfettered access to a place where I am taxed to pay for benefits to everyone who shows up. Get rid of all government handouts and I am 100% in favor of completely open borders. We should have the free exchange of goods and labor in a free market without government involvement.
I literally said being patrolled in the post you quoted.

You calling someone else self righteous is hilarious. Every post of your just exudes sanctimony. The James Comey of Clutchfans.

If you really were just an honest broker you’d have an ounce of empathetic evaluation of a large portion of America being very concerned about a movement led by a cult leader openly running to become a dictator all the while the Supreme Court and some of the richest men in the world (Jamie Dimon and Elon Musk) in open support of this major shift towards autocracy because they think they’ll benefit financially.

Like if you don’t understand why people on the left are a little worried then you just simply lack any basic fundamental elements of objectivity. You are a Trump supporter if you hate Democrats soooo much that you cannot for 2 seconds look at the situation as a so called “independent” and say “okay… one side is not like the other here.” Instead you say that one side is worse and that side is always Democrats.

So spare us your moral superiority bullsh$t.

That’s the point. A barrier is only so effective as its weakest segment. A dam that has an hole
In it will stop water for the parts that don’t have a hole but overall the dam is not effective.

Actually they are crossing through jungles and desert areas that are very dangerous and we there are many reports of migrants dying on the trip.

Except immigrants both legal and illegal do work and add to our tax base. For immigrants who are working here illegally still pay into things like sales taxes and those with real or fake SSI still have to pay into payroll taxes that won’t be able to collect from.

Not to mention many if not most are fleeing violence and sexual trafficking of their children if they stay. It speaks to a point of privilege when you can point at someone risking their lives and say that their life wasn’t previously in danger to calculate the risk as worth taking.

Personally I think anyone who is willing to take such risks to get here so they can improve the lives of themselves and their children should be welcomed. They’ve shown they are willing to work very very hard to build a new life.
