Folks, the team's biggest problem last year was interior defense and rebounding. KT cannot do anything for us in that department, really. I cannot see the team having any other choice but to start Griffin. I am not going to get in to whether he is going to start at the 3 or the 4. The fact is he is going to be around the basket which is where he is strongest and where we are the weakest. I would also say that he should be in the game anytime Mo T is in the game. ------------------
Ummmm....yea... KT was second on the team in total rebounds and total blocks. He averaged more than Mo in both areas. Also had more steals. All in less minutes. ------------------ T-Pooh and BahDakota went up the hill, to make a bet on a Forward. When it all came down, they were nowhere to be found. Now they should be drawn and quartered. [This message has been edited by Colby (edited July 30, 2001).]
Eddie is a 4, who can play the 3 in certain situations. Just look at his lower body, once he begins lifting weights seriously his body will develop. I would trade Kenny Thomas, Kelvin Cato, and Walt Williams (I know his contract is up after this year, however, we need his minutes to develop Langhi). In addition, I would resign Dream for six million over two years. No guarantee for year 3. I would try to resign Mo 1st, Moochie 2nd, and Shandon 3rd (if at all, his game is weak at best). We need Shandon's minutes to develop Langhi, TMorris, and Bull (if he is hot) ------------------ Let go and let GOD!
Which Kenny Thomas were you watching? ------------------ Long Live The Catomic Bomb. DON'T TRADE DOTEL! [This message has been edited by finalsbound (edited July 30, 2001).]
Man532 - Please let the Rockets know when you find a team that will take an underachieving center, a 39% FG shooting specialist, and a good role playing backup for 13 million. ------------------ T-Pooh and BahDakota went up the hill, to make a bet on a Forward. If Griffin plays the 4, that means that either KT gets less time, or Griffin hardly gets to play. I would rather Griffin get the time and be the 2nd string man, not that KT couldn't do the job, but Griffin could get really good. KT would be a good insurance policy if Mo T or EG gets hurt, but could he be of more value in a trade rather than having a good backup 4 play in limited minutes? ------------------
Do NOT trade KT, unless you can upgrade at the 5 spot. Mo will start at 4. He will get most of the minutes, too. Unless he's cold, in foul trouble, etc, that is. Then either KT or Griffin play 4 (depending upon matchups). Griffin will play 3/4 (whatever Rudy wants him to play, not what he told a fan) behind Mo and Walt. Yes, Walt - he will likely start during the first part of the season, until Rudy can decide who should step in. EG will probably be used whenever defense is needed at either spot. Langhi will probably not see as many minutes as you guys think/want. When he does, he'll probably see many of them at the 2. (we're short there if SA doesn't stay on the roster) Bull will be put in whenever we need 3s, at whatever spot we can spare at the time (anything but PG, really, depending upon matchups). Morris might not even make the team. If he does it's probably just for practice and insurance against injuries, unless he does really well. That's how everything should go. But we have a problem at the 5. Even if Hakeem resigns, we have no real C for about 30+ games - unless he can play more, and that is doubtful. Cato (nothing need be said) and Collier (still injured) will be all we've really got during those stretches where Dream's injured. We're going to have to rotate EG (when blocking/rebs are needed), Mo (when scoring is needed), and KT (when speed can create a mismatch) at the 5, like it or not. Considering that Mo & EG are likely to be busy at other spots during Hakeem's downtime(s), KT is IMHO far preferable to Cato at the 5, despite his size. At least he doesn't stand around doing nothing but b****ing at the refs - he actually earns his money. So unless we can upgrade at the 5 (a Marc Jackson type, maybe) by losing depth at the 4 - which we can handle (EG) - then KT is worth keeping. He comes cheap, anyway... ------------------
I agree with RodneyMcCray. And if it really IS Rodney McCray, you were the biggest tittie baby that I ever hooped with, whining about every little touch foul. DaDakota ------------------ If you like RTS games, check out this one. www.frontierwars.com coming soon to a PC near you.
