He didn't say don't talk about Ariza. He said don't talk about him in an annoying way (ie: complaining how he sucks at shooting every time).

I never said he had perfect skills. the question here is what can improve his FT shooting, not how to make it perfect. I think it's a safe bet that if he had shorter limbs and possibly a smaller palm size he'd improve his FT shooting signficantly.

And is there any proof yao was a bad shooter "for a long time?" His shooting form isn't the traditional form used by most bigs who shoot horribly. Yao's form actually fits his size very well because of the way it removes most the "pushing" motion of the arms by shooting high and it's mostly all wrist. I cant imagine he was a bad shooter unless he had a different form.

and Ariza definitely lacks some skills, but i dont think it's for lack of trying to improve them. How can you question that certain differences in players' body dimensions won't affect their skills? Its like weight lifting. Longer body types can't press as easily as those with shorter limbs. Someone like ariza not only has to dribble high because of his height, but also away from his body because of his wingspan, so he's starting as a disadvantage. Sure, he can practice dribbling lower and closer to his body, but that's mechanically harder for him that a smaller player. Chances are he wont be able to do it consistently because he'd be a pretzel all game long.

It's not always practice practice practice. you think shaq didnt practice a billion FTs every day? Why didnt someone like MJ, who had a great work ethic, not become a deadly sharpshooter from 3 point range? It took him almost half a career to even become more consistent with it. Why did Malone, who also was a hard worker, never become a 90% FT shooter? He's known for drastically improving it from shaq like averages to about 75%, so yeah hard work does pay off, but to a certain extent. It's not realistic to say practice always makes you great at something. for some it will, for some it won't, even if they invest the same effort and time.
