i agree with the part of solomon's reason that other teams work hard as well. I think the effort part is always overblown.
nevermind.. I am listening to the podcast. Solomon is horrible... He is upset that the Rockets "traded" Artest for Ariza... Quoting him, he said, "For those of you who think Ariza is better than Artest, you don't know a damn thing about basketball."
They need to keep up appearances just in case McGrady comes around or keep whatever shred of his value is around the league. The Rockets never comment negatively.......they are a quality franchise that way. DD
Solomon's a writer, not a radio guy. Justice going Taxi Driver with the "Hey!, you're interrupting me!" was a funny "what the?" moment.
After Solomon makes the joke for the third time: "Easy on the Special Olympics Jerome..." This guy is flat out dumb.
There is no doubt in my mind that Morey is going after Chris Paul or Chris Bosh at the trade deadline. I would expect a major trade to go down involving some or all of these players: 1. McGrady 2. Cook 3. Battier 4. Scola or Landry 5. Lowry
I would love to see the Special Olympics get a hold of this interview. It would be oh so nice to see Jerome get in a little trouble
Everyone who is a rockets fan doesn't want to read any of Justice's or Jerome's BS. We are fed up with them.
Just listened to the pod cast. Jerome is just an ASS. He wrote the article telling us not to buy into the Rockets being this hard working team. And then at the end of the pod cast he says "I not saying it's not true", I guess we just should not believe it. Jerome and yellow journalism go hand in hand.
All I can say is that Jerome Solomon and Jason Friedman appear to be polar opposites in their view of this team.
actually solomon is trying to say here that the rockets arent just winning games because they play hard, they are winning because they have more talant than ppl think. I guess you guys are okay with the media taking pity on us.
we could notify the proper people and complain to the chronicle and send the podcast to the SO committees. No way should he be allowed to make a statement like that and get away with it i mean there are some things that are just not right that everyone can agree on. making light of the special olympics is one of them. If anyone has worked with these individuals know that they have more strength and courage that most people will ever have.
Chronicle Sports Department: sptletters@chron.com Special Olympics Communications/Press Contact: mamurphy@specialolympics.org I was about to do it but I've got to leave for work. Anyone feel free to follow through on this.
