The guy my wife works for has a black AMEX. It was really kind of gimmick for rich people and they don't actually make them anymore for new cardholders. You pretty much have all the same benefits as the Platinum AMEX, they just charge you a butt load more in fees. Its really only worth it if you travel a ton for airlines and the concierge. They DO pull great tickets to events if you need them though, but you still have to pay for it, so you could just buy them from a scalper anyways. He ended getting rid of it once he bought his jet and really didn't need a concierge or airlines benefits.
