Be patient, I am quite sure some Clutchfans who know Spanish will do the translation for you later today.
Didn't check for grammar mistakes, so please excuse the errors. I am translating in b/w classes, so I don't have much time.
Latest update from Scola: 2009-11-04 | Big Chuck & Good Start [rQUOTEr]Well friends, the first week of regular season just ended and I'm pretty happy. We're playing pretty well, having won at Golden St and also Utah, where it's always VERY difficult to win -- one of the most difficult in the league. Too bad about our first game, against Portland. We didn't play well, but we fought hard and then 4 days later we beat them at home pretty good and so we couldn't have started much better. Everybody played pretty well, but I'd like to speak about Chuck above all others. I don't care how tall he is or how well he shoots the ball, because for me, he's a 7 footer and he's great! He's everywhere doing everything! Furthermore, he's a great teammate and it's a real pleasure to play with him. The rest of the team has played great also. Brooks and Trevor are taking a lot of responsibility on the offensive end of the court and playing great. Chase played a spectacular game today; he's got a big future ahead of him. Shane's doing his normal incredible work all over the court, which is of course, nothing new. I'm still a little bit off physically and not quite there, but I expect to be 100% very soon. I'm going to play as hard as I can in the meantime and help the team best I can. When we're playing well as a team, individual performances are less important. As a lot of you have noticed, I am playing in new shoes. They are the same model I used with the Argentine national team this summer, apart from the fact that those were blue and white (or black) y with the Rockets I wear red and white (or black), but it's the same shoe. The truth of the matter is I'm very happy with these shoes. They fit me perfectly and are very comfortable. Inside the shoe they include my signature in red and on the outside is written "Matias 4.7", which is the name of my third son and his birthdate, as it just so happens he was born when the shoes were being finished. Well, at this moment I'm flying back home from Utah. The Lakers, Oklahoma and Dallas are our next 3 games, so as you can see the calendar isn't very kind to us, but as we all know.... we have to play them eventually!! We'll speak in a week. A very interesting blog entry from Scola, enjoy. 2009-11-23 | FOURS against the World. [rQUOTEr]Today, I'm going to tell you about a little competition we have on game days. Before that, let me explain a couple of things. On game days we have what is called "shoot around", normally around 10:30 am and consists of shooting drills and a quick review of the opposing team, not full speed. Sometimes we go player by player, covering the traits and tendencies of each player. In shoot around, we divide the players up by position === pt guards, shooting guards and some small forwards on one side and post players and power forwards on the other side. At the end of shoot around we do a shooting drill called "Fours against the world", a drill between two different teams that changes according to the day and circumstances. On the "Fours" team is Chuck, Carl, and me and we have been the same trio for a long time now. On the other side of the drill is "the World", where anyone who isn't a "4" would end up eventually. Yao and Dikembe were the pillars of this team last year and they are constantly adding anybody to their side who isn't 100% a power forward. Steve Novak, Tracy McGrady, Brian Cook, Joey Dorsey, Pop Mensah Bonsu are examples of others who have been on the "World" team at various points during the year. At times, the team can't find more than one or two players, so they may grab one of the assistants to play. Jack Sikma played several times, along with Shawn Respert and others. The game is won by the first team to hit 10 baskets, with the caveat that the 5th and the 10th basket have to be 3 pointers. There are 3 spots to shoot from - free throw line extended, baseline, and the wing shot. The team that wins 4 times wins the competition. The rivalry is intense and there's a lot of trash-talk! Right now, we're 5 to 5 and everybody's anxious for the next shoot around to see who takes the lead. Nobody wants to be the loser who has to hear the trash-talk from the other side for a whole week! In the next blog, I'll tell you who's ahead, although lately I'm feeling pretty confident about the results Hopefully, I'll be telling you a funny story next week. LS[/rQUOTEr]
Hmmm, ScoLandry and Hayes. I wonder which one of those three is the weakest link in a shooting competition.
I would bet that in a situation like that, where it's just for "fun" Chuck doesn't shoot too bad. It's in-game where he has his issues.
