WHAT!?!?!?!?! Jesus why? Why would someone hurt a defenseless animal? Rocket River not a cat person but . . . . ------------------
Typical. I wouldn't expect anything else. RIP Socks. Hang in there, Across 110th Street. ------------------ "Blues is a Healer" --John Lee Hooker
Sorry to hear about it. Hate to piggy-back on your thread, but thought I'd tell you my dog, Cyprus, just died as well. She was a 5 month old Great Pyr. Died of parvo. Loved her whole life as well, which was, unfortunately, very short. Losing pets is hard.
I would be devastated if my cat died. My condolences, across110th. (edit): The same goes for your loss JV. Losing pets is painful. [This message has been edited by SamCassell (edited June 12, 2001).]
I know what it is like to lose a pet. I feel for you. When I moved from the city to the suburbs, I had to take my cat in one of those pet-cages in the U-haul truck. It was only about 21 miles, but the cat died along the way. She was such a loving cat, but I couldn't even hold her one more time. She was only four. She had suffered from heart problems, and just couldn't handle the trip. The irony is that one of the main reasons I was moving was to have an outside area where the cat could run around, instead of being stuck in a downtown apartment. It took a while, but I have recovered and now have three cats. [This message has been edited by ZRB (edited June 12, 2001).]

All the best across110thstreet. Lost my cat this year to coyotes (he snuck out on us). Ruthless. Take your time with it. We got a new kitten from the Human Society (a few months after). The kitten is great, but I can tell you it doesn't replace the spirit of the other one, just provide a new one to the house. At some point you may feel ready to bring another in your house too, there are lot of cats that need at home and the next lucky one might find yours. But take your time.

Kitties, doggies, I love them all. They keep us all company and what sweet little souls they are. Suchy a sweet name "Socks"! If life were perfect we'd be here forever and there wouldn't be "betos" to ruffle your feathers. Let em all be! RIP socks... ------------------ "Beware the lollipop of mediocrity. RocketRiver, She was a mean spiteful woman. Our cats were "outside" cats, which means they basically had free range as to where they could go. She didn't like the fact that they crossed into her yard on occassion. She was very anal about her yard; she'd yell at us if we walked in her grass.... We didn't make the connection about her poisoning our cats until a few years later she poisoned our dog too! We had a Weimaraner named "Annie". She was always kept in our backyard unless a family member took her into the front. She was one of the nicest dogs you could hope to meet. She (as most Weimars) rarely barked. If we heard her bark, we'd all look at each other like, "What the hell?" We had her for years and she couldn't have barked more than ten times. (If you go to a dog show, Weimaraners are the only breed not barking) Anyway, one day my sister comes running saying that something wrong with Annie. I go outside and she's convulsing and puking everywhere. So, we take her to an animal hospital who f'ing tells us they're "closed" (bastards). But, they do tell us where another one is close by. To make a long story short they send off her blood work and the lab guy sends it back because he thinks the guys at the hospital are joking with him. He said there was ten times enough poison in her blood to kill her. Somehow, she made it. If that's not enough. The same lady poisoned the same friggin' dog a couple years later. But, she lived AGAIN. I think she had built up a tolerance or something. Man, that was a good dog...... Another story about the same dog, some time after the second poisoning. My Mom (who's a little looney) let Annie out and my sister's dog, which was a minature daschund, named "Pug". They were gone for days until someone told one of us that they had seen a Weimar a couple of miles from our house. My dad went to go check it out. When he got to the area he saw Annie sitting on the side of the road...... next to Pug who had been hit by a car and killed. Like I said, Man, that was a good dog.... ------------------ DREAMer's Rocket Page [This message has been edited by DREAMer (edited June 13, 2001).]

Dreamer that is sad I don't care but that old b*tch [ the poisener] should have done some time. If you need to find a reason . . .well . . . uhm. . .DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY. MAN my revenge imperative would have run too high . . .WE WOULD HAVE BEEN AT WAR [Where is a nice present with a bow. . . .at. . . FILLED WITH POO!!!1] Rocket River i have little tolerance for meanness and cruelty. ------------------
If someone poisoned my dogs, then there would be hell to pay. That person better watch their back because anything goes. Pets are family and you mess with my family and I'll f*(k you up no matter what the consequences. In fact, in that situation I may just go over there and end her life right when she answers her door but I better be damn sure she did it first. There is no sound reason in the world for someone to poison a neighbor's animal. That lady is a freaking biyatch and I would love to kick her ass bad. Surf ------------------
DREAMer, Man.....if someone did that, I would go against my nature and beat them. I am just glad that your dog was able to live both times...as kind of a "f*** you" to that lady. Ugh, I am greatly disturbed. Forgot, Accross and JV, Condolences, may you see happier days. ------------------ I have just realized that the stakes are myself I have no other ransom money, nothing to break or barter but my life my spirit measured out, in bits, spread over the roulette table, I recoup what I can nothing else to shove under the nose of the maƮtre de jeu nothing to thrust out the window, no white flag this flesh all I have to offer, to make the play with this immediate head, what it comes up with, my move as we slither over this go board, stepping always (we hope) between the lines [This message has been edited by rimbaud (edited June 13, 2001).]
