Landycakes has been around since 2002, and it doesn't take a genius to translate Bocanegra to English.

Swoly, any attempt to excuse classlessness just reflects on you, man. You're better than that.

As for it being Onyewu's "funeral" allow me to laugh. First, it was OUR ball. They had no business with the ball in the first place. So don't come to me with that crap. Second, the Mexican players only even stepped up to Gooch because he already had a yellow. How about you tell them to meet Gooch after the game and see who is scared of whom.

I also love that you are complaining about not giving the other side credit and then discredit our goal as owing to poor defense.

Also, all this "nads" and "spazzo" crap is ridiculous. If the positions were reversed, you (ipaman) would be crying racism, so GTFO with that.

    LOL! landycakes! :D

Back to the topic at hand:
No answer to ipaman's questions about Donovan and Ching, huh?
No answer to why the U.S. refuses to keep the ball for more than 10 touches? :(

EDIT I see your "excuse classlessness" question to me. Let me add something: I never said "it was OK." I never said "SO WHAT? EFF YOU." It's the same story when you go to Azteca or to any other stadium where there are "Mexicans"... what do you want us to do about it? We say it's WRONG, and IT IS. We never say it's OK. There's just no point in you guys bringing it up again. We all know it's wrong.

About Onyewu, he held the ball, knowing Mexico would want to play, but that the U.S. would try to eat up time. That's what I meant. The ref should have been there instead of the Mexican players. I agree. Gooch shouldn't hold it like that, either. YOU know that.

Standings after ROUND 6 8/12 games:

Can you believe it? Only one point separates the U.S. and Mexico in 3rd and 4th place. Only 3 points separate first and 4th place!

We've answered that by saying that our game plan sucked and that the players didn't perform. Everyone in here said Mexico deserved the win. The only ones who seem to be saying something else are YOU and ipaman.

They were on him in less than TWO seconds. He didn't have TIME to stall. They just went straight for the ball. You have no leg to stand on with this one, at all. It would have been different if he had held on to the ball for 10 seconds or something but he had literally just gotten up off the ground.

I don't think many would have predicted that with only 4 rounds to go the US and Mexico would be third and fourth. A win by T&T next round could really shake everything up.

I will note that the US has already played the two toughest road games of the qualifying process and is one of only two teams with a positive goal differential.

They just got a couple of new players also since FIFA changed the rules to allow players to switch national teams as long as they don't have an official cap. The guys they got aren't the greatest in the world, but they'll boost their squad.

Landon Donovan was suffering from the Swine Flu during yesterday's game:

    http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/grant_wahl/posts/74041-landon-donovan-has-h1n1-flu-virus

Landon Donovan Has H1N1 Flu Virus

U.S. soccer star Landon Donovan has tested positive for the H1N1 flu virus, Donovan told SI.com on Thursday night.

"I felt something when I got into Miami on Sunday," Donovan said. "I just felt real bad and finally went to see the doctor. They took a swab from my nose and confirmed it, so that was that."

Donovan learned of the H1N1 diagnosis on Thursday afternoon, the day after he played 90 minutes in the U.S.'s 2-1 World Cup qualifying loss to Mexico in Mexico City. Even though Mexico has been the epicenter of the global H1N1 outbreak, Donovan said that he contracted the virus in the United States.

Donovan assisted on Charlie Davies's ninth-minute goal that gave the U.S. a 1-0 lead, but Donovan had little impact on the game after that. Usually the U.S.'s fittest and fastest player, Donovan appeared tired midway through the first half and trailed behind Mexico's EfraĆn Juarez on the run that resulted in Mexico's decisive 82nd-minute goal.

"I haven't felt that way in a game in a long time," Donovan said from Los Angeles. "During the game and even after the game I thought maybe it was the altitude, the heat, whatever. But even so I've never felt that bad. The last time I was there [at Estadio Azteca] I didn't feel that bad. I just felt lethargic, slow. I didn't feel normal."

Donovan said he wasn't sure if he would miss the Los Angeles Galaxy's game on Saturday against the Seattle Sounders. "If I feel well there's no reason why I can't play, but we'll just have to see how I feel," he said. "Judging by how I felt during other flus and colds [in the past], this doesn't seem as bad, so maybe I got a mild strain of it. The [doctors] don't know a ton, so I'm just trying to keep myself away from people and just go by how I feel each day."

For the past two months Donovan has been in a torrid run of form. He has scored in his last three MLS league games and was the league's Player of the Month in July.

i disagree, nads/spazzo is not racist. if i said "gringo" or "yank" etc... then i would agree that is racist.

urban dictiaonary for spazzo: A USA soccer team fan, someone who thinks that the USA soccer team is unbeatable, someone who wanks off to soccer player Landon Donovan and think he is god's gift to the world. They usually run in packs with their bellies out making tailgates at MLS and USA games making horrific noises and chants. :D

c'mon it's all in good fun. i don't think those words would have bothered you much if usa had won. ;)

    swoly,
i can't take credit for landycakes or blackmouth, they've been around. did you now that usa fans actually came up with landycakes nick when he bombed in europe! another favorite on spanish forums is "jotovan."

Oh, so first it was because you had a B team... then because it was an insignificant cup... and now it's because you had the SWINE FLU.

I kid, I kid. So... that's no good for ANY player of any team. Do players go their different ways when they get to a foreign country? Aren't ALL players supposed to stick to their dietary supplements and just regular food? Why is it only Donovan?

Or, maybe... someone really DID want this to happen? Someone's pretty good at "infecting players".

    plcmts17, where are you?

He got tested in Miami before they left for Mexico, the result didn't come back until yesterday though. It makes me wonder how many other US players got it from him during the trip though, being in close quarters to somebody with it for 4 or 5 days can't be good.

I have to give Mexico credit, creating a strand of the flu and timing everything out so our best player gets it for this game is pretty ingenious. Kudos to them.

more excuses. if i'm a fan, i'm pissed for a player not 100% playing and not reporting it to the coach or trainers. that's selfish. you had gringo torres, feilhaber, holden who could have stepped in.

He's 20 years old and wants to keep getting called in. He's not going to bash his coach for a poor game plan in the media. This isn't Mexico, our media doesn't run our football program.

Ah, ok. He's 20. I guess there's an age limit for seeing a different game on the pitch. Sorry. I apologize, man.

I don't care if he's 20 or 100, dude. Why is he saying "they played great"? BA-freakin'-loney. How about just shut your trap if you're going to tell lies? So LYING is ok, just to get more playing time?

If I really thought my team played poorly, I would just keep myself away from the media and compliment my team for the good things, but don't say crap like that. LIES.

I'm here pe***jo. You'll have your $20 contribution to the tip jar in due time. I didn't realize that you and middleman were one in the same. The bet was between me and you, but now I have to take every bet that someone throws my way? It's my perogative to accept or not, just like yours. Why don't you and middleman go get a room and rejoice over mexico's being back on top of the CONCACAF soccer world. Oops, you're still in 3rd place.
Be happy Mexico, you did what you were supposed to do, the only thing in the world you are ANY good at, beating the USA in Mexico. That's quite an accomplishment.

You make me laugh, sometimes. You honestly have no idea what it is to be a teammate.

Just make sure you stick around if your team doesn't get one of the top three spots in qualification so you can play teacher and inform us of how we are supposed to act with regards to our nation's team.

So generalizing an entire group based on one person's comments is acceptable as long as it's your side doing it. Gotcha.

Also, you did just basically admit that your "nads" and "spazzos" comments would be seen as racist if it were the opposite way. Just something to think about.
